I ended up having to go with the brushless tail when I did. The stock wouldnt hold it.

My goofy butt is thinking about sticking a C05 in it. I have one laying around the house doing nothing, and I already have a xp-7a running on it.

Oh, the possibilities.............

the main thing is rock solid tail hold, I can do a turn at high throttle to the right within about three feet. To the left, slightly higher, but far better than with the stock tail. And, I've probably put at least 100 flights on it and the motor is still going strong.

I was getting some blowout once I went to the 16kv motor, figure it would have gotten worse once I tried out the C05

And it looks really cool..........

That's awesome I definitely foresee mine going double BL in the (hopefully) near future. How does it hold up in the wind? And yes it does look sick!

yep..........though I'm probably gonna start trying inverted flight on my mcpx this weekend, so my baby here will probably get less stick time. Will be one of the ones I hang on to though

Nice! I can always tell when my stock mCP X tail gets in a small gust of wind cause she starts twitching a little bit and gets slightly pushed around, it's not terrible though it could always be better!

Here is my bird with the most recent mods - BL conversion (courtesy of Burnoutboy - thanks great work!), RKH main frame with BL motor mount, mCP X tail boom with RKH carbon fiber tail fin, Xtreme tubular skids with boom support. Soon to come (probably this weekend) new canopy paint and custom graphics....

You'll love the extra power.....I was skimming along at about 20 mph last night a foot off the ground, punched it straight up..........

I used to bottom out when skimming low, which I like to do. Now with the extra power, I can react and keep from cartwheeling, which I've been known to do with the stocker.

Now all u need is a brushless tail, you know you want one

I do want one you're absolutely right! Yeah I love dropping down fast as hell and skimming low and then cutting some hard banked turns around my cul-de-sac a few times right above the ground.... at least until I get dizzy and then have to come to a hover and collect myself haha!

Looks great!

I have the same skids for mine but can not get the skids to stay straight in the mounts...constantly roll around in flight and slide forward/backward.

What did you do to resolve? (assuming yours dont do the same thing lol)

Thanks!

I just put them on yesterday and unfortunately it was pouring down rain when I got home from work and throughout the night, all I was able to do was hover around in the basement a little so I didn't really get to even "test" them out, I had to stay under half throttle due to my BL setup and give very little cyclic input... hopefully I can give you a better response today but looking out my office window I see some nasty clouds approaching maybe I'll get lucky and storm wont hit until 6:30 or so......

I generally ignore the fact that they roll left/right as it's not an issue. Other thing I did is to take some rubber o-rings and put them in front and behind each skid leg, snugged in tight (8 total). This keeps them from moving forward/back and does slow them rolling over to a degree. Been using them in this manner for months.

I suppose you could CA them as well, but I havent done it in case I want to use them on another bird later and need to adjust the width, etc
