Default AEO CH05xl vs. HP08S

Got my sample from AEO today, its about the size of an HP06, and unless the laws of physics get overturned by the new end bell design, theres no way this thing will keep up with the HP08....

Sadly its just a C05xl (which wasnt that impressive) with stronger magnets and a new end bell.

I guess flight tests and data logs will confirm it. I wont be carrying them

Copper fill is not great either, and they stuck with the same design flaw the old motor had, the stator is longer than the bearing tube, so they shoved a 2mm bearing into the end of the stator to give the end bell something to ride against.

Here it is against the HP06, it will probably perform about like the 06. Still an improvement over stock, not that its hard to do!

Yes, but take those numbers with a grain of salt, you cant really compare them from brand to brand as they all dont use the same test equipment and methods. Even Oversky motors can be different from batch to batch because of variances in magnet strength. AEO motors can have variances in KV's in the same batch.

And, KV isnt everything, Torque is just as important, and a general rule is the bigger the motor, the more torque it produces and the more power it can handle.

I think for more power on the 130, 3S is going to be the best way to go on an 8 gram motor. Amp draw on 2S is already high enough that we dont have much room left for more headspeed.

Any updates on this motor? Seems like it would be alright for a cheaper, lighter and less powerful 130x. I actually like the c05xl on a mcpx.

I liked the C05XL on my mcpx as well. Alot of guys report quality/out of balance issues with them though. In this case however I am just gonna take Dylan's word for it and skip it for the HP08. Seems if you want "stock" power and a lighter nose then this motor would be a good choice. But, if you want more power.....skip it.

Yeah, the bell on mine wobbles like crazy, but somehow is still balanced decent. I was more curious than anything as I already have a hp08 on the way.

Why would you want less power? and if you do why not run a lower TC? or have you guys found running lower TC on the 130 makes the 3in one heat up?

I mean less power than HP08, not stock. If it is less than stock that would really not be fun.
