![]() Well I have not flown the Trex 450 so I cant really give you much comparison on the two but I have had my 450x since the release and I really like it. mine is all stock and that was with a straight 80% curve and my cyclic response on very high. I know a lot of people have switched from the Rex to the X. I do not think you would be disappointed.I think I remember some people that switched saying that the layout of the X V's the Rex was a little easier to work on. But I dont know bout part price differences.

![]() Hey maybe some one can help me out?. In the video right before I brought it down and cut it off you can hear the tail shimmy back and forth real fast and I know this is usually caused by the tail gain being to high but I have backed down on the gain to 56.0 It holds well in backwards flight and fast forward flight but when you are tossing it around with fast tail movement like stirring the sticks the shimmy is still there?.I have went through the tail setup and redone it several times I don't get any binding at max through in the push rod or servo.I also don't think the servo is going out it is still tight.

![]() I did get the tail straightened out by dropping the gain down some more like you said. And recorded another flight.

... Can people also post flying experience along with their vids? I think that may give viewers a better idea of how fair they can come in certain time frames. This is something I am always interested in myself. I know watching JChandler when I first started gave me something to work towards over a couple of years.

![]() Great idea. I started flying at the end of the summer last year and am just now getting out of my crashing every weekend stage Never had any other RC experience but these helis and I'm hooked for life.
![]() Edit: I will add this in to.When I was crashing every weekend I could not understand why. But it has taken me this long to figure out that what I was doing was just going through the stick movements that I learned in the sim and not really focusing on the way the heli was responding to the stick inputs. Sure it would do the move I was trying to do but it was very uncontrolled and when it went the wrong way I crashed. So what I did was slow things down and focused 100% on how the heli was actually responding to every little input in the move rather than ok if I move the sticks like this the heli will do this. I got a long way to go but that was a big step for me. sent while on the phone

![]() First attempt mounting the GoPro Hero 2 under the heli. I just zip-tied it to the frame directly under the mainshaft, to keep the center of gravity. I just got the 450x for Christmas, so I'm still getting used to it. Here I did some FFF circuits, a few loops, and a little inverted hovering. At 3:41 you can see and hear the tail shudder. This was due to the tail gyro gain setting being too high. I'm still dialing it in, I think I had it at 73 for this flight (I use a DX6i)

![]() Nice! How did the heli respond to the sticks with the gopro on it compared to without?

![]() I want a GoPro. I want one. Pretty neat stuff there!
Here's my last flight of the day, ending in a tip over. I've got all the extra parts at home, but all servos were unharmed. These videos were taken with my "helmet cam" this morning at the field across from my neighborhood and were the first flights of the day around 9:30 am or so. [ame]http://youtu.be/zs9uvuosG3s[/ame] [ame]http://youtu.be/w2gqj8n_5rg[/ame] These next videos were taken with my Samsung Galaxy. First video, wind started picking up after this mornings flights. Field across from my neighborhood. [ame]http://youtu.be/cnHazIVI_bU[/ame] Lots of wind in this video, not really even worth posting, not much real flying going on, just fighting the wind. Field a mile or so away from the house, never flown here before. [ame]http://youtu.be/LWJMeF2YTks[/ame] Here's my last flight of the day, ending in a tip over. I've got all the extra parts at home, but all servos were unharmed. winds calmer and the tip over at the end. Field behind my lhs, I like it, there's not much background camo to lose the heli into when flying closer to the ground. Damage asessment was trashed tips of the stock CF blades, that's it. Servos, gear, shaft, spindle looked okay. Still, I changed the shaft and spindle to be safe. [ame]http://youtu.be/sWMFS5H1hhI[/ame] And once again, video quality isn't great and the videographers lose sight of the heli a few times here and there,

![]() Hey Ed those look like some good flying spots. I enjoyed the videos. That's to bad a bought the crash landing hope you get her going soon. I have also been fighting the wind all weekend. Before long you should be able to set the 450x up blind folded ask me how I know

![]() Thanks, Allen. These fields are smaller in nature and tend to help keep my flying close in, but I still need to learn to do maneuvers closer to me. Maybe not necessarily closer to the ground, but not so far out you lose sight of the heli at a distance.
I was able to get some inverted training in today as well. It's much easier than I thought it would be at maintaining altitude and directions. I bailed out each time as soon as my brain started to get overloaded. I'd rather have fun with my 5 seconds of inverted hovering than 5 days replacing parts because I thought I could "handle it" if it started to get squirrely on me. I already feel like I'm starting to "get" the 450X set-up like I did with the SR. I could take that SR apart and put it back together in my sleep, with my hands behind my back.

1) Flying style reminds me of jchandler videos. You should try filming with a fixed cam, this would be really better quality 2) did I understand correctly? Inverted hover and he flips TH on for a second or so then he flips off again? Good trick, never seen...
