Rick can you post a photo? I'm having a hard time visualizing what you're referring to.

The big round black plastic doughnut on the slider assembly that looks like two disks side by side separated by about 2mm. The Pin screws on the slider arm go between the disks on the bottom and the top to make the assembly slide. Where the pin screws touch the disks, it just a little tight so it binds just a little as the assembly slides. For a slider this big, it may not matter at all. Just asking.

Gotcha...

When I built mine, I just put a drop of Triflow oil on it. I'm hesitant to recommend doing anything else about this because it will wear in as you fly. It's typical tight tolerance.

hey rick , dont you live in pittsfield?????? why do we not fly together at all? i live in adams. isn't your brother in law matt???? i know its difficult at the pittsfield club, but damn , we are 20 minutes away from each other. pownal isnt bad for you to get to either, rt 7 from pitts is like 30 minute drive to the [email protected] we have member from as far as lake george come down to fly all the time! all the way into conn. the other direction. we are somewhere around 100 members or something!!! on nice weekends we average about 30 people daily, all sorts of cookouts, tons of food all the time. more then welcome to come down and hang , (i think ive told you this before) ,.

yeh , tail assembly pitch slider , i noticed the same but mine seems quite free, i'm gonna use a dry silicone lube as to not attract dirt, a bicycles dry chain lube thats safe on plastics also would be a great lube for it. i also have a graphite dry lube that works wonderful on sliding parts. its actual use if for car door key locks. to free up sticky lock mechanizms.

Sounds like fun. Matt and I will have to swing by this summer sometime. I have driven by the old dog track and seen planes in the air!

OK, ran into my first snag. When I tried to push in the TT, the CA I put under the last bearing broke loose. Do I need to take it out and start over, or was the CA just to help get the bearings through the tube. I was able to push it into place with a screw driver.

That will be fine. I did not use any CA on my TT. Just slid the bearings into place in the boom using the protective cover that comes with the kit, then slid the TT through. I do not like using CA on the bearings because if you do not get them perfectly straight then it can cause some nasty vibes.

Thanks. I like that approach. I didn't really like pushing in the TT that way anyhow.

You want pictures, this build thread is awesome:
https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=437380

This thread is just a supplement to the manual, and a place to capture my questions.

If I do anything unique worth capturing in a photo, I'll post it.

Fair enough. That part will be unique. Everything I have done so far is right out of the text book.
