Default Ikon

Replaced my AR7200BX with an Ikon yesterday. Damn this thing is wicked awesome on the cyclic now, never really tuned the BX, never really had to - but now I know what I was missing. Right now just flying stock settings out of the box, gotta tune the self leveling, and probably fix some vibes - ordered the aluminum tail case, tired of fiddling with the screws on the plastic one.

Why?????

I'm drug tested 2 times at every show and pop testes threw the year.
lol You must be a person that thinks all pro's juice. But this isn't the place to debate that. I'm a WNBF pro. Not IFBB.

http://richknapp.wordpress.com/ read my biography please. Then you will understand why I am drug free and will remain drug free.

Again though this isn't the time or place to debate me being drug free.

I've got some polycarb paints in for my airbrush. I'm going to attempt to strip the paint off a spare canopy, and do a custom job.

CopterGuy gave me his crashed Mini Titan canopy to try to rebuild and custom paint also.
Fun times.

Awesome! Yeah, this will be the 1st time I'd be using water-based polycarb paint. I picked up the Faskolor bottles. I am so sick of the chemical paints. . . .

Post your finished artwork here hoss!

I will. I don't have a air brush so it will be pretty basic compared to yours.

I am interested in this. I paint Lexan RC car bodies using the Faskolor paints and an airbrush. I'm looking forward to seeing how you get the paint off of the stocker.

Does anyone else make clear canopy as a base?

Im going to go ahead and strat a seperate thread about this, so we can stay on topic in this one.

Well, I'm going to strip the paint off just like any other r/c car body - I'm using a butt load of oven cleaner spray, and a huge gladware casserole plastic container. It should also dissolve the glue that holds the windshield and the two halves of the canopy. The fun part is going to be putting it all back together after it's painted.

I see that the two 450X logo stickers will come off, so I'll save those. I'll mask a stencil for the Blade logo and paint that from the inside.

Here's my photochop concept art (probably seen here before) - a red dragon scale pattern -

Ready for clear coat. (windshield just laid on for pics) Like I said plan simple clean. Nothing fancy.
With no air brush, I design and print my own decals and such. CopterGuy had some of these so I salvaged them. White one was the start.

Wife is talking about getting me a Airbrush set up. But that a lot of money and we don't have any area in house to do it.

As far as speed? It helps I don't work and can putts around on it all day when I'm not working out.

20 lbs. minimum on the airbrush tank compressor. 45 lbs. max. Flush it every 30 mins, with either mineral oil or paint thinner, depending on your medium.
