Most of my 3s packs needed replacing, so I thought I'd try a 6s setup. So this is using a Castle ICE Lite 50, Scorpion 2221-2010 and Turnigy TGY-306G-HV servos all round. With 3400-3500 head speed it's pretty quick, very punch and will run for 4 - 4:30 minutes!

Cool! I have a 6S setup in the works myself. But I opted for the "original" size packs. What canopy can you fit with that pack you got?

And Wadders - you gotta go check out the Euros for 1:8 Track (the F1 class of RC cars) at the Halifax track! It's this week with finals sat and sun, now practice. 0-100 km/h in 1.4 secs sound fast enough?...

Here's my stock standard

And here's one with full upgrades including aluminium head, tail box, CF fin, servos, CC50A lite and silverline VBAR.

I really think 6s for a 450 is the way forwards! The packs are the 1300mah Turnigy ones. I ordered four all at the same time, two were the size they should be and the other two were slightly bigger. The smaller ones fit just nicely under a Fusono canopy, but the bigger ones are a bit of squeeze.

I've seen the Nanotech packs that are similar size to the 3s packs, which packs are you planning to use?

I only live about 2 miles from the track that you mentioned and went passed there last night! Have you ever been? I'll have a look at the times and take a look.

Tommy,
Do those Align tail grips have thrust bearings?

wouldnt the 6S battery be much heavier than the 3S and cause a change in COG? How do you make up for that change, just curious.

The packs aren't that much heavier, as they're almost half the 3s 2200mah capacity at 1300mah. Plus I'm using a heavier tail servo, which keeps the CoG just about right. There's also some flexibly with sliding the ESC further backwards.

Beautiful evening to fly at the field last night. Tried out my new Blade canopy. Finally one I can see, I like it.

Still need to paint the tail feathers to match.

The strangest thing really, a shark bit my tail off. Just practicing tic-tocks out over open water and bam! Now I know why blade sells most parts in pairs. The frame is still in one piece so that's like 4 hours saved right there.
