After visiting guys at Slovenian police air unit, and a few suggestions I have decided to upgrade the hinges look to be even more realistic one ,...

In short I "redo" the hinges and add additional details to Doghouse,...

Detail ,...

The look right side,..

and the left side,...

,... but I wasn't completely satisfied with doghouse look,..cutting next,...

If trying to be as accurate as possible to the real thing, cutting of the Doghouse was necessary,...

Dremel time,..

Top view,..

And after 12 hours of drying, there is still a few more hours to go solid for sanding,..

,... next the tail,...

,..Tail from the ROBAN is,... well it is tail, but miles away from the real thing,..

What does a real thing say,.. how it should look:

Construction was done from balsa and Polystyrene with vitroplast in the middle.

Sandwich made of 6mm balsa with holes to lower weight and added on both sides 1,5mm balsa and 0,3mm Polystyrene. For the tail edges I have used 0,5mm Polystyrene.

At the moment the tail is looking like this;

,..that all for this week

The shape of the tail on my helicopter is not quite correct but it was not as bad as the Roban tail. That's really off with the skid positioned at the rear tip of the tail rather than the middle. Nice job on the new one.

Remarkable craftsmanship!!

Forgive my ignorance, what is "vitroplast"? I am unfamiliar with that term.

@ Don thanks matte. I find a lot of imprecise details on this Roban fuselage, but on the other hand, we would have just small amount of things to add if fuselage makers were too accurate

@ ssmith512 thank you man. Regarding the term "vitroplast" it is a Glass fiber material. I should have used that last one, I am sorry for the unfamiliar term.

Roy thanks, I do try to do my best. It is so much fun with detailing, that is why I like this hobby, as probably most of us do.

Pete,

Great works and good progress so far..really like how you make things more accurate in the Jetranger, that's how a true scale should be...

No doubt it will be a good looking Bell Jetranger when you are done!

Keep up the good works!

Cheers,
George

So tail is where I left the build last time and the tail section is what I was doing this week.

The real thing is having leading edge beeing moved few degrees to the right. To support flying straight at higher speed. What I did is I have added balsa to the tail section and made 2 degrees offset for the tail.

This is how the tail section is looking now:

Next I was trying to imitate the line between body and upper part of the tail section.

The real this is looking like this:

What I did is made stripes out od Polystyrene thick 0,5mm and wide 2,5mm and glued them to the fuselage.

When I will add primer I will make the look accurate to the real thing,..

This is what I did with fuselage this week,...

Hello Peter,

Tail Fin looking great and the tail cone is pretty accurate too niciest I've seen so far!
Are you putting the anti collision/beacon light on the tail cone tip too?

Right now I'm repairing my own Jetranger 450 size..which is a pretty accurate small model and adding the doghouse intake-filter details.

Happy modelling and hope to see more details in your Big Jetranger build!

Cheers,
George

Hey, George!

Thx for nice words I am trying to be accurate as much as possible. To be completely frank I might be redoing tail I do not like the wideness on top of the tail fin

Anticolision beacon light is coming to the top of tail cone this is something it has to be there

I have to tell you I liked Facu's Jet ranger III 450 size fuselage a lot and enjoying flying it. To be honest that was one of the reasons I decided to go bigger .

Cheers,
Peter
