Default 'Drone' breaks window in Florida

I just saw on my local news. KIRO 7 up here near Seattle Wa. that a "drone" broke a guys window in Florida. They showed it. It was a DJI and maybe a go pro, not sure. The guy pulled the sd card out and can see someone flying it. More bad publicity. Glad no one was hurt. I was just surprised it made my news all the way up here in Seattle.

I mean come on, look at how active the Blade 350QX forum is. Surely someone can cause some havoc with one of those for a change.

I wonder, after more or less a century of people flying model aircraft, if this is the first time one has ever broken a window?

I broke a neighbours window with a ball once... can't remember making the news though.

Hopefully they will get bored with "DRONES" soon and these stories can go into the "sometimes s&it happens" category, where they belong.

This just in: The FAA has announced new guidelines for baseballs. Under these new rules, you must be able to observe the ball at all times while in the air and keep it under a 100' ceiling. You may attach a camera to it, but you cannot throw it to or at anyone unless they are holding a bat. If you intend to sell footage from it, you must be a member of the MLB.

Feel free to use it, paraphrase it or improve upon it. Credit is not necessary either.

I met the hysteria of "drones" saying there dangerous. Yes they can be and could potentially kill someone. So they must have a team of democrats to form a panel of 200 experts in the feild of Fing everything up debate about it and put it on the news.
I know a guy dumb thumbed a 700 into a car at a field ... that didnt make news ..

LOL, yeah, I kind of figured where you were coming from. Just had to throw that minor little detail in there.

I'd vote for anybody that was going to ease up on my flying things.

For sure that Helis are far more dangerous to individuals including the pilot, not to say that a medium sized multi couldn't give you a nasty bump on the head or start a fire etc It would need to be a very big multirotor to be as intimidating as a 700 heli up close.

Not really. Whomever coined the description of a "Flying Cuisinart" was spot on. You have to take in to consideration that a 960kv motor @ 14.8 volts is doing over 14,000 RPMs. And the little racer quads are going much faster than that. You can get hurt or inflict harm on another person in the blink of an eye.
I get apprehensive when my f450 or f550 starts to drift back towards me. I know that if one of those ([email protected]) 13,616 RPM rotors gets me, it's a trip to the clinic to get sewn up. So don't let the fact that it's a multi rotor fool you. They are still very capable of doing harm to any one.

Of corse you can hurt somebody that's not really the pointn. Its the media's attention and governments were to stupid to know any better so WE have to save thoes ignorant people from thoes flying contraptions AND that you can just swipe your card and have one shipped to your door. They are brining out a new breed of people to the hobby lhs store manager shakes his head and looks at floor with the line at quad counter not because of the quad but because of joe Q publics mentality about them ...
