Default HC Rigid will not operate as 3a or 3d

I am rebuilding an older trex 600 esp for use in a scale canopy

I have several HC rigid units (original, gray plastic with the ground sensor). I was under the impression that the rigid units could function as 3a, 3d or rigid. However, when I plug them in to the USB and open the software (version 2.0) it says select hellicommand rigid device in the right corner. Even when I select 3a or 3d in the drop down menu it will not change (I restarted the software, repowered the unit in all possible combinations). In this mode the Rigid tab when selected says something like load parameters or data. In 3a or 3d the write and load arrows are grayed out. I tried resetting to original factory settings and getting a green equal sign.

The only way to make it work is to select rigid and then the write and load arrows light up and work. I have a 3 rd similar unit I bought brand new back when they came out nd cost 6 bills and this one is identical, but works fine in 3a mode. I want 3a as I have several fbl models, but want to keep these two with flybars ( don't ask why) but as I understand rigid mode is not meant for flybarred helis.

As I said all 3 units are identical. Both say: Captron HeliCommand Rigid , one has build date of 08.10 and the other 10.08, I bought these used. My original has a build date of 11.08, could thw wiring harness be the issue? It seems unlikely as it appears to work, but is just stuck in "Rigid"

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

It looks like the newer software can deal with flybars, even if the selected mode is rigid. It should work now. Thank you for the plethora of responses and posts, it is good to know there are people out there willing to help. Way to go!

In any software, even the latest BD software you can choose wether it should connect to a 3A, 3D or RIGID (incl. V.2), no matter if HeliCommand or bavarainDEMON labeled.
And the RIGID with deactivated fbl electronics (OFF mode chosen) then works like a 3D.
