Don, I really like reading your posts containing thoughts and what are you working on. Quite inspirational since we are building same yet in many ways different JR III beauty.
Please post some pictures from IRCHA and US Nationals I just adore looking made scale flyable helicopter models. Found out that I look for similar things watching those made models or maybe have a problem reproducing some detail and wish for idea how to solve occurring problems,.. For me it is as much fun as it is instructive. Learning new things hearing new stories behind the machine and its people that are and were involved with it. And best of all you find out the machine is having soul on it's own,..

No to forget nice people on the forum always willing to help and give nice comments, for that I solute and applaud to all of you guys

Enjoy,

Peter

Hey:

I just noticed that your original helicopter has a sliding rear right door. That is the first time I have seen that on a Jet Ranger. Nice working on the exhaust outlets.

Yes Don, sliding doors it has since idea behind was this helicopter to be medic support for mountain climbers in accident. Both JRIII Slovenian helicopter division have are having same sliding door on the right side.

That to make will be a small challenge I need to make fuselage reinforcements to support sliding and additional door before making the door cuts .

Enjoy,

Peter

Thx Phil, slowly but surely

Well past few days my occupation was collecting cockpit dimensions and in between I sprayed filler on several fuselage items.

I have a need to get measures somewhere so I took from the real heli. My three years old son was my company, showing his Agusta A109 toy helicopter to the guys at police force.

So here we go,..

Hopefully glass fiber material will arrive soon, so I can continue my work on cockpit

Until than enjoy,..

Peter

I have continued the work on cockpit. Hard to get all the lines right.
The look on the real one:

And my version. I have used glass fiber 0.8mm as a main structure than I have added balsa to get as much as possible real shape. At the end I have used polystyrol to make instruments cover.

Still way from being finished, but shape is there and I find look convincing to move into detailing.

That is all for now, enjoy!

Sorry guys but lately my progress is quite slow since there is just not enought time to deal with everything. So there has been some development with cockpit here is what was done so far.

Filler was applied and a lot of wet sanding,...

I am also preparing instrument details, below there is a small piece of what I am preparing for my friend Roby to CNC out of Polystyrol

That is it for now,..

Nice. It won't be to long before I start to get my second Jet Ranger on the starting table. I will be using a first generation Fun-Key body that has a fixed nose and removable doghouse. The upper and lower windows are not even cut out but are painted so I will be using the modern window kit in it and cutting the upper and lower to match my current CH-139. I am also going to build a complete front cockpit and any of the rear that I can. At least, I will be using all the existing pictures I have on hand to fully detail the cockpit this time. I am not sure when it will be started but I have the mechanics all ready and I am getting a larger version of the head I have on the CH-139. Who knows, I might even use the hub of the head I have on my Logo 5003D and forego the metal hub. It might turn out more realistic than the metal one. Keep those updates coming. Take care.
