Default If not a 700x then which 700?

Guys,

I have been a loyal horizon customer for a while now and I would really like to buy a 700X but I am a year too late. Since the Pro Series is now gone, which 700 air frames should I be looking at? I don't want to spend crazy money but I do want something that's of good quality, reliable and flies well. Your thoughts?

Lots of 700 e-heli's out there to chose from. Best thing to do is try to get together with local heli guys and see what they are flying and then decide what suits you best imho.

If I was to buy a nice new 700 e-heli right now I'd probably go with a thunder Tiger E700 FL V2;

Yeah, I was just looking at that one. I honestly don't know anyone else who who flies helicopters in the area. I have 62 acres of field behind my house so I never joined a club.

I would take a serious look at the new protos max v2, I have an e700 its not for everyone, very cheap though. The logo 690sx is a hell of a heli too.

I wouldn't put faith in a company that canceled an entire heli line because it didn't sell well, especially when they pretty much lied to those of us who asked about discontinuation and were told they weren't going to be discontinued. Fine. Whatever. I get it. "Business", but how it was handled was disingenuous at best and should not be forgiven so lightly. Now, consider this. Since there weren't that many sold in the first place, especially the most expensive 700X, there aren't that many around to be needing spare parts and it won't take long for the relatively small number of currently flying airframes to crashed out of service, cannibalized for other projects, or outright discarded and then the spare parts demand goes to basically zero. Plus, most people flying at the 700 level aren't crashing all the time further reducing demand for spare parts. Yes, they crash, but certainly not as much as less experienced pilots down in the smaller 450 and below sized heli range. That's where Horizon sees the real money and it's exactly where Horizon/Blade's sole focus (other than quads) is right now. So, regarding these large expensive 700Xs, how profitable would to keep making spare parts for such a small demand base? Answer: it wouldn't be anywhere near profitable to run those expensive production lines when they can be re-tasked for something else. Due to lack of demand, they'll dump those parts too, soon enough. Don't make the mistake of comparing much more expensive to produce Pro Series parts to the lower end Blade helis of yesterday and say/think, "But they have still parts for XYZ heli!" Not the same thing. Not even close. Just my $0.02, so take it or leave it.

+1 Another vote for the Gaui X7.

Chronos is an excellent 700 and worthy of consideration... looks good, simple, tough, flies great.

Video of the Chronos at IRCHA 2015:

Also perfect for low headspeed flying... 6S, 7S or 12S:

I have and love my Gaui x7. I can't say enough good things about it. She just keeps flying and flying well. Gaui had a deal when you buy the x7 you get a x4 as well. That's a good deal.

I also have an agile 5.5.and she great as well. Right now if you get the agile 7.2, you get a free agile 5.5 as well.

I would not hesitate to get either one.

There are some good heli out there and it can be a hard choice. X7, goblin, kds

Knowing what I know now, if I was in the market for a new 700, I would go to the x7 with the formula canopy and tail boom. She is a great flyer and looks sweet.

But the KDS deal is a great deal.

Default 700x

It flys really well, lots of bad rep due to Horizon pulling it from the shelfs, and the tail gears... ( I shimmed mine ones and never had a faliure ) i fly the 700x with no canopy at certain events this year & usually got people asking what is that? I say it's a trade secret and then drop its a blade! They walk like what?!? Lol!

But really what Heli to get: be honest with your budget get something you can afford to crash and have parts in stock.

Buy whatever you like! The thunder tiger is good stuff. Want a tank get MSH Protos!!!! That's my favorite !!

Most important remember it's about learning and fun!!!

+1 for the Protos Max V2... comes with a Brain FBL and the kit for like $699 or something... the guys on the RC Today Show had a whole conversation about it and it sounds LEGIT!!! Cant beat the cost and parts will be available.. I'm seriously looking at it. I may buy my buddy's Goblin 500 for $650 BNF with all high end components... then I'll save up for the Max V2

When you move into the 700+ category, everyone has their opinion on what is best...So here is mine.

I would say take a close look at the Synergy E7SE..I have one, and it is a great helicopter. The plus side with Synergy is when you call and need parts, you talk with one of the owners, you also get to buy a heli from the two nicest people in the industry. Again, just my opinion!!! Matt and Amy Rock, and you might want to consider waiting and moving into the 750+ category and look at the new Synergy 766. I for one cannot wait for it to hit he shelves.

Disclaimer: I have no association with Synergy Heli's!!! I just like the product and the people that stand behind them!!!
