Default 3D Printed Landing Gear

Found this place that sells 3D printed landing gears for the Apache. Can be made from plastic or stainless steel.

It's actually bronze infused stainless. I think what they do is print with a powder of steel and binder, bake it to burn off the binder and sinter the steel, and then dip it in molten bronze to fill up the pores.

Shapeways can print in a lot of different materials, including pure Stainless. It's all a function of what you want to pay for your print. The guy who did the CAD work to come up with the model file that's being printed gets paid when you print his file no matter what material you choose to print it in...

I think I will pick up a set of plastic too. The stainless versions are a bit pricey. I would pay $15 for a set of the stainless but $30?

The white plastic are $12.99 a pair shipped. Not too bad.

Just got my plastic ones. Not sure about them being printed as one piece with the wheels. I want to cut the wheels off and mount the original wheels to the gear but if the new hole I have to drill really weakens them than its a bit of a waste of the new part.

The plastic gear arrived today. Look pretty good. Didn't think about rolling. Oh well, I think the AH-64 is going to be a shelf queen anyway. I will probably fly it a couple of times a year or maybe at the gym where the club meets in the winter months.

Still trying to figure out if the DXe that came bundled with it will work with the Inductrix micro quad. Sent an email to Blade but have not heard back from them.

It does! I took the DXe to the LHS and they bound it to their demo model. Santa bought one and a spare 45c battery for me. They are sitting above my stocking waiting to get wrapped.

Default 3D Gear

Well I had to sell something on ebay just to buy a set
But I got a set coming....

And I'm gonna try and get creative and incorporate some sorta spring action to them...
With some micro springs... I love to engineer...
Anyway I can when it comes to my Helis ether to better it or to just tinker on them.....

But should be Fun to see what my mind is capable of this time around lol.....

Cause everyone's right about them being way to breakable if just the slightest of a hard landing...

So I wanna see if I can draw something up in my head and make it happen on my heli....
So we shall see....

Will keep you guys posted.......

God Bless........

I noticed you can buy the landing gear and gun separately now with out having to buy the whole fuselage.
