Slot the frame holes. A little round file does the trick. You can do it the KDE way, they send a drill bit and a c&c bling piece for the outside of the frame.
I prefer to use the file, it is much easier to control and washers on the outside painted flat black. Once the gear mesh is set, it will fly sweet. I fly my stretched ones at 17&1900 rpm on the head.

Or if you are doing a stretch anyway just allow for larger tail blades. 105mm blades make a huge difference.

Yeah, that works too. I ran 105's on it when it was a stock 600. The tail blades would take out front tt gears from the grass cutting. I went with the Auto gear mod and 95mm tails, no more blow out or stripped gears.

The solution to the 105s and ground clearance is to get the 700E skid (the stock one is the F3C version) and replace the stock rear one only. That will raise the tail quite a bit and prevent some of the gear stripping when landing.

I actually put the old style nitro skids on mine. I re-enforced the back side with 1/8" piano wire. It stands up off the ground good and has some spring on not so smooth landings.

No, no grease.
It's teflon , made for gear lubrication.

But I thought the gears were self lubricating. Adding more may cause slippage, hence the stripping. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Delrin (aka POM) is self lubricated. In some cases adding more can do more harm than good. It's not necessary.

What are you using for a gov.? How tight was the mesh on those?

Since i started using Drylube gear, in am seeing a lot less wear on the gears.
But setting the least amount of backlash in the bevel gears is more important
