Anyone have any ideas on where to pick up a SK2-GPS? I emailed Slookum but they have not responded. Seems like they have moved away from the hobby market.

Tried to find it, but looks like that both V1 and V2 GPS units are gone from retailers.

In Germany nothing is available from Skookum. Hopefully something will be in stock again...

Skookum is incredibly slow for their email replies, that's my biggest complaint about them. You can buy right off of their website though

I don't even see the GPS for sale on their website. They must be busy with their new venture.

Got a user here that posted up an alternate source here earlier, we pm'd back and forth about this, dangit, can't find that thread for some reason. It isn't an official labled Sk gps2, but it is the same equipment they use at about the same cost! Some simple stuff, and it worked like a charm.

Man, where is that link,,, arrgggg...

That wasn't a GPS. That was the LZR which is just an off the shelf part SK was using with their GPS

Here it is, Randy.

I paid $149.95. I think there are two or three vendors that supply this unit now. The skuttlebutt is that the lidar3 was half the price until Garmin put their name on it.

But just think of the pride in ownership now that you'll have a real "Someone Else in China Really Made Me" Garmin Lidar light3 on board your heli.

I know I'm all aglow thinking about it.

But again, that is just the optional LZR device for position hold, not the GPS2 unit itself which the OP is asking for

Look at their new commercial site. Looks like the GPS2 is part of that offering. Bet they respond to sales inquiries on that site

I just looked at skookumuav, and the SK900 and the GPSU sure look familiar. I guess that's where all their GPS modules are going. I had a good ten year run with the Skooks, but progress moves on. I'm happy with Brain2 & Spirit Pro now. I still have one 720BE on a 450 that I rarely fly. Everything else is in a drawer.

I have a GPS2 module that I'm not using, and probably won't, and a fellow freaker asked if I'd part with it so I'm considering whether to sell it. I don't want a bidding war here, so if I do decide to sell I'll announce it in the skookum forum but put the info in the for sale section. I might just add all my Skook stuff as a "clearance" sale. Dan

So, I happen to have a SK720BE, GPS-2, and LAZER unit that I've been meaning to list in the for sale section. Mostly I've been too busy to figure out a fair price to ask for them. I bought them from Helidirect when they were offered "on sale" as a combo and intended to put them on a G380 I was building. Obviously I had more money to spend than knowledge about an appropriate FBL system for a G380, and hadn't really taken the time to find out just how large of a bird you need to mount that much gear correctly and safely . I also didn't realize how many modifications I'd have to make to the tail shaft and canopy, and realized I was in way over my head and had spent way too much money for my needs and skill level as a pilot and as a builder

Anyway, they have never been mounted on a helicopter, powered up, or flown. I have some of the original packaging, all of the included cables/mounting tape, etc. If anyone is interested shoot me a PM. If I receive multiple inquiries I'll place in the for sale forum.

Thanks!
