Default New - Hello from MO

Hey guys,

I have always been very interested in CP helicopters. I tried once, crashed a few times, and gave up. Decided to get back into it. Currently bought a Nano CP S, Dx6i, and Phoenix 5.5 Flight sim.

I haven't made it all the way through the forums yet, but if anyone has excellent advice on the following, I would love to hear it.

1.) Best way to get comfortable flying?

2.) After I "master" the Nano CP S, I would like to get into a bigger heli, anyone have recommendations? Looking for something $350 or less.

Hope to get to know everyone!

Welcome to HF and the hobby.

When you say comfortable, I assume you mean in the mental sense. It takes a lot of patience and practice time. The sim is really important, and everyone has their own tolerance. I know guys who sim an hour every day, and some who can't stand it at all. I manage to put in 15-20 minutes about 4 days a week and that's been enough to make a huge difference for me. But you do need to use the time in a structured way. See Archmage's great tutorial videos for more on that.

Once you can hover the nano cps comfortably in all orientations, and can fly it around a bit, you are ready for something like the Blade 230s. The BNF version goes for $249 before any discounts and you can fly it with your current radio. You will want to pick up some extra batteries and a basic charger if you don't already have one, as well as a few spares. That will take you to your $350 budget.

Hi and welcome.

Wargamer's comments are always spot on. Just throwing on my two cents.

Welcome. Persistence and practice is all it takes (plus $$$). The 230S should be your next heli.
