Default 150DFC vs 150X Side-By-Side Comparison

I just got a new 150X to go with my old 150DFC. The old 150 does have the new GRS board installed. So, the electronics and flight programming are the same on both.

The biggest difference is the stronger motor in the 150X. Enough power for tail-down tic-tocs. The 150DFC can't quite manage this.

Next differnece is the thinner fiberglass on the canopy. The original 150DFC came with a thin plastic canopy that broke when you looked at it wrong. The replacement DFC canopy is thick fiberglass. The 150X canopy is nice thin and durable fiberglass. Good upgrade.

Tail motor has the connector, but that does not help me. I have never needed to replace the tail motor. The difficult item to replace is the tail boom. Even with the new connector, they don't sell a tail boom with the wires in it. So you still have to thread the wires in and out of the tail boom.

I'd pay a little extra to have a replacement tail boom with the connector on it and the wire alrady passed though.

The main blades are reinforced. This is good because the stronger main motor (though I never threw a blade on the 150DFC).

The fresh swash on the 150X is very solid, compared to the great slop in the worn out swash on the 150DFC. Maybe time for a new swash.

The end-balls on the swash on the 150X are longer.

Overall the 150X is more fun to fly, mostly because the stronger motor.

In terms of comparing the 'six-axis' GRS to the older mRS I never had two helicopters with the different electronics side by side to compare. Two months elapsed between when my mRS failed and the new GRS arrived for my 150DFC. So I can't really say the difference. Since mRS has no 'stability' mode, there is nothing to compare there. In terms of the 'agility' mode, it seems the mRS may have less lateral movement when yaw, or more stable piroetting. But hard to know for sure with out flying an old mRS again.

Comparison only in 3d mode, all with blheli esc:
Latest version mrs is fast and sharp in flip, yet quite stable in fff, sometimes with little tail wag during fast inverted turn and hurricane, but the tail sure holds very well and never blow out.
New grs has much greater tail authority and constant pirouette speed in both directions, control is very precise but the rate is low, I have to increase roll rate to 90% to catch up with the rhythm of mrs.
Simply put, grs feels bigger while mrs is sharp. Although I have 150x but I fly 150dfc more recently, just like the fast and simple feeling of mrs.
