Default Trex 700x torque tube front gear set

Hello all,

On my 700x the torque tube front gear set is very smooth except in one spot! If I remove the .3mm shim from the umbrella gear it feels perfectly smooth but the gear mesh feels too loose! It acts like it needs a .2mm shim to me! Anyone else experience this? Where could I find other shims? Should I use the .3mm shim and let the gears "run in" ? Thanks for the help!

Avoid any tight spots and one thing you can also do is take out one of the gears and rotate a few teeth. None of the gears are perfectly round and this setting of the gears helps for me and i do shim.

I get my shims here: http://os.3racing.hk/products_list.p...catalog_key=42

They come in mixed sets with thicknesses from 0.1mm to 0.3mm

I found some shims at Amain Hobbies. A think a .2mm will fix it right up!

Kyosho also has the right size shims. They are a bit pricey but you can source them quickly.
