Default HW40 Platinum v4

Something new from HW?

Platinum 40A V4

Battery Count: 2-6S Lipo, 5.2V-25.2V
Cont./Burst Current: 40A (burst in 10 sec)
BEC Output: Switch Mode BEC,5.2V/6.0V/7.4V Cont.: 7A, Burst: 15A
Weight/Size: 49g / 48mm*30mm*15.5m

Features:

Brand new governor program, easy to operate; and its excellent speed-governing effect can make big rotor blades more stable even under rapid load change.

Independent output port for RPM (that is: motor speed) signals.

Compatible LCD program box (*optional accessory), its simple and visual interface allows users to set/revise all the ESC parameters easily. (For detailed information, please refer to User Manual of LCD Program
.
Upgradeable firmware, you can upgrade the ESC after connected it to a PC via the USB cable on the program box.

The independent port, for connecting the program box and setting parameters, can also be the output port of the running status data of the ESC. When coordinating with the data transmission module, it can make the real-time data monitoring and logging possible.

This is new yes. I have a prototype but unfortunately haven't had time to change out the esc in my bird that it will fit in. It has virtually the same programming as the rest of the V4 series so it will be familiar to current users. And about the same size footprint as the 50/60

Does it weigh much less than the 60a? Why buy it instead of 60a if they are the same size?

If someone has an unmounted 60 to weigh I can see what the 40 is.

Anybody know if this will support amp telemetry (which 60a v4 does not).

Default Face It: Today's Sales Is All About Price

If HW can do a low $30
or
Even better a high $20

HW40 will have a substantial 40A market

It would be nice if HW40 were small or lighter but to keep down cost and have the same function HW may have to use the same form fit function as their other stuff..
where did you see this advertised?

I still do not see answer on current sensor....

Sad because an $30 multi rotor fc can include one but HW sub 60a esc can not?

It clearly shows, (or not so much) is a V3

Look close in the corner of the label....

but this one looks like a V4
https://www.hoelleinshop.com/All-you...9302&c=62&p=62

but it's only good for 3s-4s, so if you run say an X3 on 6s the 60a V4 is about as small as you can get
