Default Telemetry and binding with JR 28X

Flying the JR 28X using VBar with satellites. Is there a way to get telemetry data transmitted to my transmitter?

Thank for any input.

I think you would have to use a full receiver with X-Bus to get the telemetry.

Some DMSS receivers have Telemetry built in (the newer ones). The earlier ones require a satellite (which act as both a satellite receiver and a telemetry transmitter).

I have used both and both are solid.

X-Bus is the way to go, IMHO, with V-Bar or any other FBL unit (after using PWM and X-Bus-the difference is profound).

Default DMSS

I'm new to the 28X.
I just tried to bind with a spektrum Rx with no luck.
Will I even be able to bind to the Vbar sats? DSMX.
Are there any DMSS satellites that will work or do I have to buy more receivers and use a patch cable?

If your radio is dmss it won't work with dsmx or dam2. I believe their is no dmss sats that work with most fbl systems but I believe they make a xbus rx that works with vbar and works similar to a futaba sbus rx and requires only one servo lead to vbar.

Need either a full DMSS receiver with patch cables or a DMSS receiver that is capable of XBus, then only one patch cable is required and you will get telemetry (limited to your JR sensors attached) on the 28X.

Sorry, I did not realize you were trying to bind to DSM Satellites. As others posted above, the protocols are different and that is impossible.

From my Robird days, with the Robird, you could supposedly re-arrange the wires in the DMSS satellite and connect it to the Robird. You had to bind the satellites to the transmitter using a receiver first. I never tried it but people reported that it worked.

I have no idea if it would work with V-Bar. This is what I thought that you were trying to accomplish.

A six channel DMSS receiver weighs about as much as two DSM satellites with their cables, so you would not be gaining anything even if could use satellites. I believe LaDon addressed this on FaceBook (that is where I got this information).

I decided to use the receivers With XBus.
Does anyone know the channel assignments for the 28X?
None of the channels work out using the XG14 setup.

JR XG 14 - X.BUS | VStabi

Any help on this would be great as I have already stripped a brand new Futaba servo on the tail. Guess I should have disconnected them all.

Just set the channels in the VBar software to match your TX Xbus output. The 28X are different to other XBus radios.

Your channel assignments will be correct like I have said. Just bind the receiver and do the cold start on the vbar and it will work

Default Got it sort of

It's all done, but the VBar is broken. Every time I touch one wire, the whole system jumps all over. Channel assignment ended up being 6 2 3 4 1 5 7. I'm pretty sure that's how my 12X was. JR assignments. Started at 412 ????.
Anywho, thanks for the help. Maybe this will help someone else doing a Google search on the subject.Click image for larger version

Default VBar

Well I thought the VBar was broken but it turned out to be the power wire. Good enough excuse for me to get a new Neo. Woo-Hoo.
