Question Rail 696-1 blades with no 5mm>4mm spacer?

Hello everyone,

I ordered a set of Rail 696-1 blades, the box says it's 4mm>5mm compatible.

It came with 8 shims but they all have 5mm holes.

Are the blades usable as is with a 4mm bolt? (Pull them out then tighten?)

Anyhow, sort of in a bind, I'm thinking I may have to return them.

Let me know your thoughts on this problem.

Thanks for your time,
MajSlayer

It is possible to fly 5mm blades on 4mm bolts and shouldn't cause any issues. It will just bend the bolts more easily when rpms get high.

Thumbs up That's good news.

Well that's good news, thanks.

It's going on a JR Ergo Gasser with the S-300 scale body, 18 to 19 degrees total pitch.

It's a 14 pound beast, RPMs are pretty low as is, being a two stroke scale bird.

I installed them and after tightening them up, they seem fine. (hope so..)

Thanks,
MajSlayer

There should have been two additional brass 4mm ID inserts packaged with the blade spacers for use with the smaller bolt. Here is a picture from a unopened pair of Rail 696 blades I have at the moment.

Default That would be wonderful!

That would be great, I'll send you my address via PM.

I was a bit stressed out about it, paying for shipping to return, etc..

Peace,
MajSlayer
