the top block- (top servo plate) the bearing is put in from the TOP (with the bearing flange on the bottom) with the bearing cap with 4 screws installed to hold it in place (the cap is on top)..(you will take that cap off if you decide to use a collar) The next one down , middle block - (bottom servo plate)...the bearing is put in from the BOTTOM and the block installed with the bearing flange on top. the lower 3rd bearing block- the bearing is installed from the top and the block is installed with the flange on the Bottom |

Thank you for clearing this up PTFlyer. Not exactly the clearest from the drawing , but the two top bearing blocks are the same part and are interchangable correct? I almost feel like building another X3 after this one to see how fast I can build it after this experience.

Thank you for your help. Finally got it installed correctly, now the play is less than 1mm. Going to get the clamp for the top of the shaft. Man the instructions should be more clear as to what directions for the bearing blocks for a first time assembler.
As they say as long as it ends up good all is good! Jason |
