Default KDE500XF-925-G3 Brushless Motor for 450/500-Class Electric Helicopter Series

Attempting to understand why this motor boasts higher efficiency specs vs x nova. However does not run as long as x nova motor in a setup in a 420 goblin. With exact same electronics. Attempted to find out about making manual adjustments to tribunis esc. However it looks like you can not make manual adjustments.

Much much higher quality magnets. Kde uses the most expensive stuff on the market vs almost all the other brands. Kontronic is the only other one using mags that approach this level of quality. It makes a big difference in how hard they pull and how efficient they run.

I quess you missed my question too. I know they have power. However the xnova runs longer than the kde with an exact carbon copy 420 setup. So my origional question is why the xnova, a supposed less efficient motor, runs longer than the kde for flight time. ????????

The efficiency depends on many things including how fast you spin the motor. They tell you that it can be 92+ percent efficient, but that could be at 74 percent throttle. If you run at 85 you could be at a lower efficiency. The efficiency curves vary from motor to motor IIRC so I believe you could use two motors at the same setup and have the one that has less peak efficiency be more efficient for the setup.

The efficiency specs for motors tend to be fairly accurate because you can stick the motor on a dyno and the results are pretty straightforward unlike max motor power ratings etc.
