Default Governor Sensing Divider - Mini Comet

I am at a point where I was trying to setup the governor on my Mini Comet and I found the divider tops out at 8. The Mini Comet motor is a 24 pole, thus needing a divider of 12....

Is there anything I can do to run the Spirit governor?

Thanks!

Hello,

yes, there is temporary workaround.

See this page:

The only important is that "gear ratio * sensing divider" gives you same value as in case you would set correct sensing divider.

For example: if you will set 2 times smaller sensing divider you have to just set 2x higher gear ratio and vice versa. Multiplication result will be same.

Thanks!

Another question about the governor. I have been using the Hobbywing governor on all my helis and did so on the Mini Comet today as well since I needed clarification on this.

On the Hobbywing in governor mode, it will not spool up until roughly 40%, so throttle hold is set around 32% to give the hold bailout. The slow spool does not reset until 0% throttle or a specified amount of time passes in hold (default in ESC is 25s). I have throttle cut setup separate from throttle hold as an additional safety switch at 0%, but it can also be used to reset the spoolup speed to slow before the time expires.

I see in the manual the 12% setting for throttle hold bailout, but I also see that 0-50% is direct without governor.

Then I found this:

4 Throttle Hold for Autorotation (optional)
In case that you want to use only Throttle Hold for autorotation, please perform the following steps:

Set the Throttle Curve for Hold to 12%. (This will spin-up the motor)
Decrease General/Governor/Throttle Range - Min. until the motor will stop completely.
Increase the Spoolup Rampup until you will get immediate spoolup when Hold is disarmed.

If you do this, will it always spool up fast when you turn off throttle hold, even if you are on the ground?
