Oh my lord. In all my time flying, I've never seen 6 KDS Chases, much less 6 of them in one place. Very unique heli and clearly it's working out well for you!

So true. I have never seen another Chase except my six.

I had given up on the Chase. If it was not for the mod they would not be flying. # 6 may stay a two stage system if I can get the gears to fit that I want to try. If the gears do not fit then I have a back up plan also.

What mod is it that you're doing? I only left because I had some parts tolerance issues and my tail blew up twice from resonances I never could solve

I did away with the two stage system. My belts would not last long. So I cut the frames and installed the G380 / 420 gearing.

It brought the fun back to flying the Chase for me. A few months back I started trying to fly a Chase 380 and Chase 420 again. I was shredding belts in four flights and almost quit flying them again. Since I had several spare parts for my D380/420 and G380/420 on hand, I decided to cut my fire damage Chase frames I had to see if the G380 gears fit. I was able to adapt it to the frame fairly easy. I`m even using the G380/420 tail gears in the Chase tail case on four helis. On one I kept the stock Chase tail gears.

I almost like flying the Chase 420 more than my Protos 420. My Protos 380 is collecting dust because I totally like flying the Chase 380 more.

I used the Protos 500 stretch boom. I believe the Beam E5 boom will work also. You will have to cut the boom to the length needed on a 380 stretch. On my Chase420 I use the P500 stretch boom without cutting it but the boom is just barely long enough. It really needs to be about 5mm longer but I have not had any problems so far.

If you keep the stock Chase tail drive gears then you will need a 544MXL belt. The belt for the stretch X3 will work. I use a 550MXL on my one with stock tail drive gears. If you change it out to the G380 tail gears then use the belt for the G380. I have not tried it but you should be able to use the Protos 380 tail belt but it is longer than the G380 tail belt.

On my 420 stretch I use the G420 tail belt because I`m using the G420 tail drive gears.

Awesome! Thanks! Just ordered the 544mxl belt. Have a boom on the way also. What length will I need to cut the boom to for the 382 blades and to accommodate the belt?

Did the Chase 360 torque tube option die off?

If I remember right my boom is somewhere between 450mm-455mm long with the 550MXL belt installed.

I always do a test fit before cutting boom.

The TT never made it as far as I know.

Thank you. After I get some time on this 382 mod, I plan to go 420.

If you get time, could you list the specific items needed and the mods required?

Would really appreciate it if possible.

Is there a carbon boom for the 382 stretch that will fit the chase 360?

I found a 17mm carbon tube in 1 metre lenght at a local hobby shop. It has a nice matte finish and looks awesome on the heli.

I believe these are replacement tubes for the bigger professional multicopters.
Double the wallthickness and virtually unbreakable

My Chase 360
Instead of the e-bar, a beastx was given
and some tuning Parts ..
It's a good machine, there is not enough flight time.

On my 420, even with the super light Protos 500 CF stretch boom, my tail with my 2200 6s or 1800 packs slid forward all the way is still slightly tail heavy. But I run a slightly longer belt so the tail is out farther than noted above.
As far as loving the 420 over the 380? It is personal preference, the 380 version is far more nimble, the 420 is more floaty, and is more suited to bigger air style flying.

Thanks
many variations and many bad ideas existed
I wanted the wires not to be visible when the cover was on the machine.
It was difficult to find a place for long-range receivers.
I like the machine and practice the figures with it.
I did not regret having bought it.
