Update/Reload Firmware

Trying to fix a balky RX. Downloaded Spektrum programmer, D/L'd 230s file 4.36 (supposedly) from site. Programmer says file is not for my device. Don't see the 4.23 now on rec. I try to load a .sax file from 12/15 and it says, it's not a .sax file (in spite of the .sax at the end of the name). I try to use the old Spek updater, and it will not darken the Install box.
Ideas?

Have you tried using the Spektrum Updater rather than the Programmer?

Yes, but the Install button stays grayed out.

Have you tried the latest updater ?

had similar problems - when updating the receiver.
Best chances to be successful is to re-download the serialnumber - then download 4.36 version again.
disconnect the battery
Start the Spektrum Updater as Admin

user the "power cable" button in the updater and try again.

hI Make sure you have the update cable in the right way round black wire must face downwards
