Default Servo-savers - Anything special about using these?

On my Oxy2, it seems one servo saver arm continually works as designed and others I've just broke the plastic servo arm instead.

Questions -
1) How tight should the screw be? I've been using a finger to hold the arm from moving and tightening a bit more once it starts moving
2) What about the black rubber, anything special about that?

Is it possible that installing these a certain way will make them activate better / less breaking?

Thanks,

Chris

From my experience of using servo saver on align 150x I did the same as you to tighten the screw. Just about 1/4 or 1/5 turn after the arm starts to move. If I overtighten it just a little bit, it won't work and the 150x's servo will be dead in next crash.

On my Oxy2 I use Lynx cyclic servo which comes with arms with servo savers. I broke 2 of the 3 arms in halves in my 2 crashes and all servos are still good. I don't have any idea why the arm broke. Guess it's the weakest point other than the linkages. The plastic arms that come with the lynx servos are so thin and fragile. But I'd rather keep breaking it other than the servo

With the arm pushed down on the servo, install the screw with the washer so that the washer is flush with the top of the servo arm. If you go further, the arm will start to splay so back out carefully to the point where it doesn’t. Use a small amount of retainer on the thread (for this I use purple) to hold it in place.

On the Oxy2, I find the arms break in a crash - but in these cases it’s usually accompanied by bent pushrods. Post analysts suggests the arm slips, followed by bent pushrods then if it’s still going snaps servo arm saving the Servo.

M1.6x3 Pan head screw silver
NOTE: During assembly this screw must lock loose,
otherwise the servo arm cannot rotate
in case of crash.
We suggest locking the screw completely,
and then open half of turn.
This operation is mandatory for
the perfect function of the system.

Thanks Rich (and all others for the replies), I didn't realize the servo-savers had an instruction PDF. I found it on the Lynx site. Thanks again.
