Power supply for PL8 duo.
I've just ordered a PL8 duo to replace my existing PL8. I was hoping to use two feather merchant 24V power supplies in series to get 48V.
Checking voltage of the power supplies in series, I got 50V on my Fluke DMM. Is this going to be OK with the PL8 duo as its exceeding the rated input voltage by 2V?

Just have the feather merchant make you a 36v power supply (one standard and two ground floated units). Cheaper than the two 24v and properly grounded where as your planned setup could setup a ground fault and allow voltage leak to the case if there was a failure some how....
Just a thought....

Aren't server power supplies sometimes adjustable with a little pot inside? Ask your power supply supplier, and if so, maybe you could tweak them both down a tad.

Then you will need to float the ground on one of the non-floated supplies....

Although more expensive than servers supplies, a dedicated 48V power supply is the way to go. The MeanWell RSP-2000-48 is quite popular. |

Easily done to isolate the ground if its not already done by feather merchant.

Nice power supply. I'm sure you'll be quite happy with it. It's smaller, lighter, safer, and quieter than running four power supplies in series.

I was happy with how small and light it is. Finally getting around to building a proper charging case and lighter and smaller is good!
