Looks interesting but I'm more excited that it comes in a ARF kit as well..

I would be very interested in the ARF myself! My current 270 has KST all the way around and I unlocked the ar7210bx. Might get one of the price right!

Question answered.. Stability mode can be mimicked by setting gear channel over 124% keeping SAFE active. However the model is not advertised as having that feature. Thanks for clearing that up Brian

Hi Brian,

Does the SAFE on this one mimic the other SAFE operation similar to a 230S etc. or is it a bailout like an upgraded 270cfx?
Thanks in advance!
Bill

It is a bail out function only , it does not have self level or limited bank angle like 230s or 250s according q & a section on product video ..

The Fusion 270 only has Agility and SAFE Panic Recovery, no dedicated stability mode. The SAFE Panic Recovery is like the 230 S, you still control collective and the negative collective is limited once the model is near level.

Please keep in mind Panic Recovery is like stability mode in that you can still control the cyclic, tail rotor and collective. So after take off if you were to continuously activate panic recovery you would be flying in stability mode.

Panic recovery is activated by pushing the GER channel past 124%, if panic recovery is not activated then the GER channel controls the tail rotor gain.

For those that have a different preference in flight controllers you have a couple of options;

a) The ARF model and purchase your preferred servos separately

b) +$90 more for the BNFB gets you 4 servos and I am sure you could find another purpose for the AR636 (old airplane or maybe prop up the kitchen table).

We tested on the vbar, ar7210bx, Ikon and the AR636A all fly very well. ar7210bx settings are in the manual. KST215MG's fit without issue and perform well. Or you could go for 3x MKS DS95 and 1x MKDS DS95i, its all about what you want to do...

Can you modify how much it is holding when it is engaged? Like if you have an engaged with a lesser control would you be able to fly and like a stability mode? Or would that just neutralize the ability for it to panic recover? Just trying to understand how it works.

While the ARF looks like a cool option, the value really is there to just get the BNF, KST 215s while great, will add more weight and these days run a bit north of $100, then an FBL is going to be at least $120....

Definitely not SAFE mode as we know it, just self leveling like the more expensive helicopter models w/ Ikon, Brain, Beast, etc. Still, I will watch & see how this shakes out in the next few months.

Default New tail case

Did I get the part about the new tail case correct? James said the tail case will be universal for other models? I would like the larger bearings on my 360. The new bearings are 4X10X4 I think.

I have the Fusion 270, it's a good flying heli, lots of power. It flies really stable.

Since I have owned it, I only have two issues to pick at. One, the landing gear is WAY to narrow and the heli really tries to tip over on spool ups, has tipped a couple times costing me time and money. Two, I've noticed a hard cyclic flutter upon a fast descent, not sure why (maybe the tune?)

Other than that I've really enjoyed it so far.
