Default New Blade Fusion 480

Pics have surfaced on the news thread. Thought to open a thread for discussion to leave the news thread clean.

link? for us lazy folk... because I can't find any news thread with such info

Edit: found it:
https://www.helifreak.com/7540560-post179.html

edit2: I "knew" this was coming, before the fusion 270 was even announced. I'm quite satisfied, and quite curious. I knew I held out on buying anything else for a while for a reason

The naked one has definitely been thumped into something...
-top of tail fin chewed up a bit
-left side servo-to-swash rod is bent
-and if I'm not mistaken, the swash to grip rods are a little crooked, not parallel with mainshaft

Not sure how I feel about the left side tail box being the actual tail fin. Can't decide if I love it or hate it. I suppose that might help keep cost down a little?

I'll try one if Blade keeps it in production for over one year.

Mikado has been doing that for years, it's nothing new.

Just realized this is actually a 480 machine and not some crazy named 380mm.

Now I'm interested.

This looks really nice, simple but well through out. The Vbar mini is an curious choice of FBL considering the heli an Horizon hobby product?

It's interesting that Blade are choosing to go back into the 500 heli class after a few years out.

Why is That? As far as I know...Mikado was the first to come up with this size. Mikado came up with the fusion name. The tail case is a Mikado style design. Might as well have a Vbar on it.

As far as length of production...Blade products are not known for their longevity.

I think he means that its not a beastx or ARxxx. It is odd seeing it with a vbar on it for a HH product.

Does the Mikado use of the word fusion pre-date the Outrage Fusion?

If everybody waits a year to buy one, they're sure to kill it for low sales. If it is a success and maintains a steady run rate of sales it will be around for a long time. Simple business rules, ride profit train, stop a margin loss.

The price will need to be better than the Trex 500X.

Looks good to me! I owe being in this hobby to Blade and I think a lot of us do too. Without Blade, some (maybe even more?) of us wouldn't even be part of this community. We need Blade to succeed whether we like it or not.

Don't care for the landing gears though....

The 7200BX was discontinued over a year ago and replaced by the 7210BX.
