Thanks! I like the looks of this stretched eXo. I'm looking forward to see some videos of it in flight. If one builds it with light enough components, maybe it will come off as a lightweight 550 perhaps weighing in at 6.5 to 7 lbs max. For comparison my 550U weighs 7.5 with lightweight electronics (plastic cased servos, HW100A with built-in BEC and so on).

I just saw a confirmation by Sebastian on the Compass USA fb page that it is indeed a 550.

Well, now what do I do?

Convert one of my two eXo's to an stretched version or get a third?

Decisions! Decisions!

Does look cool, still can't get past the LiPo tray.
If you want light 550 build XL Power. w/ 6S5K is 2.6kg (5.7Lbs)

It is my understanding that this stretch may be coming very soon.

What leads me to this belief is that there were new, upgraded parts released, and they will be included in all new EXO kits with manufacture dates newer than November 2017.

The updated parts are thicker inner frame plates without the extra cutouts (for rigidity).

Beefier main belt idler pulley that is no longer adjustable, and has four bearings instead of two, with a larger diameter. (This makes motor belt adjustment only to be done with the motor counter bearing block mount).

Larger tail guide idler pulleys with larger bearing outer diameters. Bearings are now normal radial bearings and no longer flange style..

Both idler pulleys now have different spacers as well.

New Carbon Battery tray sheet without assigned cutouts, allowing battery straps to be placed anywhere on the tray.

I truly think that these updates were made not only because of research for just the 500 size, but also to beef up the airframe for the added torque of 550 size.

Also of note are the updated One Way hub and sleeve, as well as a thinner, lighter weight canopy.

As far as the 550 stretch goes, I think the EXO looks nicer as a 550. the longer boom makes the large canopy look like it fits better.

Who knows, we might even see a 600 size at some point!

I realy like how my exo fly as a 500 so wil not strech it to a 550 but if there ever will be a 600 size exo, thatīs another story.
To get parts to be able to use 30mm motor bolt pattern would allso be nice.

My thoughts exactly. I love how it flies now and i won't convert to 550. However, there is the possibility of crashing (knocks on wood), and in that case it might be just as expensive to stretch than just repairing it.

It happened with my oxy 3, crashed the 'normal' size. Stretching was $5 more expensive than repairing, so I stretched it and never regretted it

Since compass is no longer in business and is now continued as Rage RC, is anything known about this stretch kit? Or has is been postponed?

I would assume it will still happen. In the States, we have no concrete information on that, though.
