I haven't got any new pics to post, but the field is complete. We are holding a unofficial fly-in December 1st and 2nd.

Any one in the area is welcome to show up during the day and fly!

I sent you a PM on Facebook a few days ago. Just wondering if the RV hookups are ready to use and how much it would cost to camp there for the weekend.

Yes. We are up and running. We have set RV hookups at $25 a night.
Landing fee for non-members is $10, but that is for 2 days at a time.

Our first unofficial fly-in is starting tomorrow morning. A few RVs have already rolled in. I have to work tonight, but will be there first thing in the morning.

There will be a mix of heli guys, FPV and plankers. The site has separate areas for each so there should be peace, love, and harmony among all.

If me and my family happen to get lost in that part of the woods, will you take us in? 25 bucks for hook up and 10 bucks for landing, it's hard to find that same peace and harmony at that price anywhere else.

Nice job, really.

Just a suggestion (from someone who doesn't have an FB account), but an FB page specially made for your place won't hurt (i think).

15 hours and 1000 miles for me but even so I'd make the trip some day if they were hosting a large event like IRCHA or Joe Nall....

We are hoping to work our way up to a big event. Our first event this past December was a success. It wasn't even advertised and 40 pilots came through word-of-mouth. We collected $1600 in toys-for-tots and the local GSP helicopter landed to pick them up.

The Georgia State Patrol guys asked if we could make that an annual event. We love the idea, because it will gather a lot of people together for a RC event that they might not otherwise have attended. Hopefully that will further people's interest in our hobby.

We are considering overlapping the event with a motorcycle rally and/or car show so that each community could share the experiences. Not a full overlap, but just a day or so. That way people coming to the event for RC but not intending to fly (like family members) will have an added attraction, and the people coming for the car/motorcycle rally will be able to experience the RC.
