What did you do to your 270cfx today

It's so smooth and steady it isn't funny...a pure joy to fly

The forecast was 16-25mph wind...but I swapped between models...calm field behind the treeline along the west edge

Even the nCPX brushless got it's airtime doing up close demos for the kids

so i got my 270 just recently and when i first got it i had some radio issues, idle up didnt work. so i just sport flew it for a few flights. so i got the radio function worked out and i have put 10 flights on it this weekend and 3 on monday and 2 today. i have to say i really like this helicopter and i dont know what is so different about it that i like so much over any heli in this size. well except my forza 450/360 when i had it. i have had a....umm, few align 450's and clones for some reason i feel this thing flies better. am i just nuts?
oh does anyone elses servos come down fairly hot?
my ir thermometer had a dead battery or i would give a more accurate temp, but they are noticeably hot. i am not doing hard 3d with it just mild 3d everything is stock except tail housing.

Very common for the 3050. Even after a relatively docile flight in my 230 they are very warm and the 230 is a lot less powerful than the 270. I've gotten them pretty hot to the touch and not from being close to anything like the motor either. They just run hot. Even brand new ones freshly installed act the same way. Not sure why that is.

i did look up the specs, according to spektrum the little buggers are moving fast .067 sec for 60 degrees @ 4.8.
that's probably why they are getting hot that motor has to do a lot of revs to get that kind of transit time with keeping 29 oz of torque.

I would be looking to do what many already have at some point - switching. The KST 215 is a pretty common one to change to, cost about the same or less, higher speed and better tq, with zero heat issues. You will also notice a difference in feel in flight.

+1. They just run hot, also due to the 200 Hz operating frequency of the FBL. They more and more develop play over time. I switched to KST/TGY and got the precision of day 1 back (if not even better). Nice upgrade and totally worthwhile doing.

cool, il get some ksts' then. like my first post i am really having fun with this heli. i have a new battery ordered and was thinking i was still going to have to wait 15min for the servos to cool down before i put it up again.

What a beautiful late afternoon here in the Northeast. Sunshine and no wind whatsoever. Flew a few packs through the 270 and 230. I am amazed how well these helicopters fly...smooth and predictable. Its just the 270 has a lot of punch...yee haww and I love the thing.
its been about a month since I have flown them, just been busy and when I have gotten a chance to fly I grab the 130s and mCPs and just mess around in the back yard instead of driving to my field.

Decided that the previously announced blue frame washers were just not enough...

So I swapped them for M3 gold washers...

And changed the battery and ESC connectors to XT60

Well it's been a little quiet so here ya go.

The rain let up and I got 4 flights in on the 270_CFX this morning.

I just recently replaced the motor bearings and main shaft bearings which were dinged up from a rough landing or two ( and I bought it used ).

I also put on the Lynx plastic blades, and finally got the FBL and TX settings to where I like the way they feel ( the carbon blades are so much floatier & solid feeling ). The white makes a nice visible disc.

And got some graphics on there, which really help with orientation.

I love this heli. It's fun, peppy, and very quiet all things considered.

Yeah, these are the Lynx plastic blades.

I don't see the white ones available anymore, too bad as they read very well in the air. The black & colored ones are still made though.

I put some white / red tape on the black plastic blades I put on my 300_CFX and that helps a lot.
