Default Is the Suggested Set-Up Twitchy?

I received mine yesterday and set it up in my DX18 as per the instruction manual.

It calls for zero expo! I can only assume that the preprogrammed Rx /gyro have built in expo. But when I tested the stick inputs were going the correct way it did seem pretty quick and big in moving the swash.

I'll fly it that way and add expo later if needed, but can someone comment on how this zero expo set-up flies. I usually have 10 to 25% expo.

It is a great looking heli and well put together,IMHO.

Great thanks for that Ken.

I have the 270 CFX and really enjoy it, but a few weekends back it got real small real fast and I only bought it back to me based on what felt right via my thumbs as I couldn't tell its orientation. This being a bit bigger and a great colored canopy should help out in that department.

Cheers,
Phil

The challenge with small helis, as you've pointed out, is to keep them in close. A good method to practice is to sim with a small heli in an indoor space. With Heli-X, I use the Oxy 3 or Mini Protos in the Sporthalle, but you could do something similar with pretty much any sim.

The idea is to get where it feels comfortable and normal to be doing eights in an area the size of a basketball court. If you do this on the sim all the time, you will just naturally keep your 250-325 size RL heli in much closer.

It does take practice. You'll probably hit the walls a lot at first, but it comes.

Mine seemed a little sensitive until I put 20 % expo calmed it right down.

I have now flown it with zero expo and it felt fine and solid and not twitchy but it responds nice and fast, so I think I'll just leave it.

It feels like a BeastX with 20% expo added, which I think is interesting. Maybe the gains are set so well on this 330X that it acts like 20% expo.

One thing I really love about this heli is the brightness of the canopy. It really pops in the sky. All canopies should be this bright!
