Castle Talon 60 on FIREBALL
I was wondering if it will fit and work well? the reason for using it would be that I have experience with it, as I have a 180cfx and OXY2 both with talons. I am new to this and just a sport flyer(for now anyway) I set the governers in the esc for both the 180 and the oxy instead of in the fbl unit. I was going to get a oxy3 stretch for my second build but think the FIREBALL looks cool. I know it is heavier but it is said to be very stable with 5 min plus flight times with a 1250 making it a good sport flier. I plan on using KST 215'S and a SPARTAN fbl. I use a spectrum dx6 gen 3
THANKS STEVE TALON 60 IS 30.2mm x 65mm x 10.6mm ( 1.19 x 2.56 x .41 inches) |

I also have one other question. what are good headspeed settings on FIREBALL for sport flying and mild 3D? also when you govern the speeds in esc how does it affect it for temperature since it is direct drive? I changed the pinions on both the 180 cfx and oxy to match up to esc settings but since that's not possible on FIREBALL what are the options?
THANKS STEVE |

Hi there,
Sadly I use Hobbywing so I wouldn't know. Also I don't own a Fireball but the stock SAB ESC is basically SAB's custom Hobbywing 60A. What I do know is that the preferred method of governing is through the ESC so just perform the RPM standardization setup and send 85% throttle and you should be good. I think there was a thread I saw somewhere of the KV of the motor and how to enter the information to determine your gear ratio (since there is no gear, it's direct drive) if you want to use a different type of governor. Now going back to your Castle I don't know if someone uses a Castle or not but I think Castle ESC's are usually thinner and lighter which may cause you a tail-heaviness issue on the Fireball. I think the best bet is to get the stock electronics. You can even order it pre-assembled from SAB USA if you want which makes it so much easier to finalize your setup and go fly. There are many reports of it being an excellent wind flier and working really well. Again I don't have one myself I have enough helis as it is
