Default Logo 550se power options?

I have my 550sx v1 I've had for a long time.
Last year or so I stretched it to se length and run 600's and fly 6s at 1800 typically. I get a good long flight 8 minutes plus or about 7 if I fly it harder. Typically tired pulse 5000's 6s with 100 cycles.

The change would require new esc and motor.

I like the size and love the auto capabilities.

But as you can expect I feel it is a bit under powered and am thinking 10 or 12 s but stay in the medium HS range if possible. So my goal would be keeping near the same weight...

Has anyone gone 3300 or 3700's at this head speeds? If so how long of a flight do you get.?

I've really come to enjoy the longer flight times after stretching my helis. The medium HS helps make my flights more relaxing while gaining 50% or better flight times.

Maybe the solution is just some new healthy packs......

Why not try 8s 3300 or 3700 think they would fit 2/4s side by side standing up.

I have been flying the 500se with 600mm blades on 6S 5000 mAh packs for about 9+ years now. It is not a smack 3D machine but performs big air stuff very well. My packs are just about dead (puffing now) but mainly because they have been a little abused recently, but they have been flying for about 6/7 years.
This uses the Scorpion 4025-1100 motor and a Kontronik 80HV esc. One of the main issues with the 500se frames is a slightly narrow battery compartment. I think 48 x 52mm is about the limit (I'll need to check), especially because I use a counter-bearing for the motor. This reduces the battery clearance a little bit, The counter-bearing does mean that my motor bearings have been good for years and years, and no, I don't oil them!

I hear you on the counter bearing. I rarely oil my motor bearings.

I recently widened my battery slots/frame with a file. I have the LV yge and the 1100 both mikado versions. It does fly really good, but after 100 flights per pack they seem a bit lethargic.

I did look at possibly 7 or 8 cells, I guess any other option adds weight and a new ESC at least.
I don't think I want to fly harder. I just know I'm on the edge with these packs as when I dropped the pinion and same rpm it really helped the packs fly better.

After putting a lower kv motor (from 520>400) in my E700 and tried my 3700's again it worked far better than before and I was able to fly over 10 minutes where before the batteries didn't like it early on in the flight and they complained.
