For a belt installation tool I use an old transmitter antenna with a hook bent into the end like your plastic one.

Best part it collapses down to its smallest section.
Works on everything from a micro to the 700 size.

I didn't have anything to use for pulling the belt through the boom other than 12 gauge insulated copper wire with a hook on the end. It seemed to work pretty well.

It's always more fun when you don't crash!

Grounded my oxy 3 because a brand new Kst 215v3 has a rough spot in the gears after half a dozen flights making my cyclic stick and jump around.

3 flights on my TE at folsom lake yesterday. There is a point that the wind becomes too much. Still lots of fun though

Default oxy 3

Added extra shims to the head, there was a tiny bit of sideways play there which is now gone. Hoping this will solve my "extreme vibrations" warnings I keep getting in vbar (and it flies weird). Kind of running out of things to check otherwise, got a new spindle, a new main shaft, new main shaft bearings, new main gear, blades still look amazing (but i've swapped with a new set anyway and no difference). run it up without main blades (but still tail blades and everything else) and using the vibration analysis I see OK levels.

How's main blade tracking? Tail isn't vibing?

How tight are you going on your main blades. Should just be tight enough that if you laid the heli on its side they will not move, but if bumped they will.

Default hmmmm

well adding shims to the head didn't change anything in flight, it feels better/tighter when i pull on it with my hands though, so that's good.

have now got another issue though, looks like i lost radio link during flight (twice), got it down ASAP, pulled the vbar logs and put it away. gonna have to put in a bit of time to see where that's coming from... possibly loose connection to satellite, not sure, have to investigate.

tail isn't vibrating and blade tracking seems good, main blade tightness is as it was before for ~1000 flights or so, not saying it's perfect, but it's an issue that popped up recently.

On satellites it can be the wire or connector, they're prone to fraying at the joins. I always used to re-enforce the plug and wire with hot glue, it makes a huge difference.

Picture posted. I 99.5% finished my 285 conversion to a scale style build.
Just need to rebuild my Cube tail hub and add the tail blade protection ring.

Not your normal oxy 3 285

Rebuilt my oxy3 and got a few flights on it over the weekend, seems to be flying well, issues with vibrations seem resolved, new sat cable and no issues with radio anymore.

Still fiddling with the tuning to get it feeling as good as it did before, but it's not bad right now!

Converted my oxy3 from DFC to 'flybarless' head and replaced dampers, will be interesting to see how it flies now! Such an awesome looking heli!

Possibly flying better with new dampers. Can't feel a difference in flight between DFC and flybarless head. Loving it again!

More cyclic gain, more headspeed, felt pretty damn good! tic tocs so good. Was worth the little bit of maintenance to get it back into tip top condition again, now I can really enjoy flying it again.

Replaced my blue arrow 0988 tail servo for the spektrum 3060 on my oxy 2. Apparently i had a bad one since i had a bad tail wag

Rebuilt my oxy 3 after a stupid autorotation crash. i forgot the tail doesn't spin when the motor is off, so a backwards autorotation was not the smartest idea

Succesfully remaidened the oxy 2 and oxy 3. Today was a good day :

Started rebuilding an oxy3 I picked up on eBay.
Tore it completely down, soaked all the screws in denatured alcohol, cleaned each screw hole also.

Not too bad, I already knew I was going to need blade grips.

So far I've needed:
Blade grips v2
Main bearings
1 cyclic link
FBL setup kit(FBL is way more resiliant)
13t pinion to run 3s at about 3800
Main grip service bag for the shims.
Cyclic horn kit(for the balls)

I'm also changing the triblade tail for a standard tail(I'm not a fan of the tri)

I missed having an Oxy in the line up. So easy to repair and maintain.

I've got oodles of parts still so I had everything in stock lol.

I guess I could have bought a new kit for a little more but I've got alot of parts that I could use.
