SOLD: YS96 and pipe
I have sold the airframe and so the motor needs a home now. One owner I bought YS96 and pipe together new - can show receipt. It has only seen fresh Byron Rotor rage 30 and nothing else. It has never been stored with fresh fuel in the motor it was always burned off. The motor has 77 flights on it including the breakin flights. 11 gallons of fuel exactly.
It is all original except check valve which was changed once , currently has an OS 8 plug. I would like to sell it as is since it’s closed up and ready to go. My intention was to run 3 more gallons through it as I have the fuel here already. At that time I was going to replace ring and bearing and go flying again. Full disclosure - you can read the thread in the engine section titles bearing noise started by me. I thought the bearing was making noise as there was a bit of a high pitch noise at idle - long story short it turns out the crankshaft balance weights were loose the adhesive had compromised. YS told me to clean everything up and slow set jb weld them back in so long as everything else looked fine. Everything else does look fine in terms of I don’t see any wear or tear apart from that caused by me enjoying the motor in the heli. My friend here who has a lifetime of aircraft glow motor experince looked at it and told me I’m way too fussy and the motor is fine just glue the weights back in and go have fun. So all I’m trying to convey isn’t I have had one issue - I picked up on the new noise right away and addressed it. The motor has NEVER cut out NEVER leaned out on its own or any peculiarities. It doesn’t run hot at all the settings are consistent and it’s been a pleasure to fly !! No crashes , no butchery , no install remove over and over the threads everywhere are perfect. The ya pipe is perfect no dings. Asking 400 dollars. Two spare idle needle orings as I thought the needle seemed tight and bought spares in case of any surprises but never used em.
