Default VBC or Heli-x?
While doing hover training in Heli-x the helicopter will appear to dip its tail like I'm giving it a negative elevator. If I was using my DX9 I'd swear I had a slight trim set.

When in the calibrate elevator screen on the VBC the number jumps around. Is this normal?

Joy.cpl calibration all looks normal.

How does using wireless sim kit differ from usb?

If you use the VSim wireless interface, you can get switch functions additionally as to USB joystick interface. Have not used Heli-X but on NeXt it works really well.
