With a “jesus bolt” just like the 2 blade head....

You do need a swash plate for 5 blades and a swash follower....

It depends on the head you have. Any pictures or at least a link to the webpage would help...

The “art” of multiblade heads is in the setup.... and mostly dependant upon the FBL you use... let us know and we will help...

no problem... what confuses most people is phasing... but that is easy. Can be done mechanically... or in the FBL unit.... just google and check youtube videos...

One more thing to consider is the head speed... it needs to be lower... significantly lower that the 2 blade head. Now this can be achieved by gearing.. lower KV motor... less cells in the battery... or by having a freewheeling ESC.

all simple solutions but it will take some swapping of components..

black brant 99:

I didn't have much time this morning to explain why I moved your post to this section. First, this is a dedicated section for help with heads, tails, and rotor blades and second, you might find a few threads in here that can provide lots of options that may or may not be directly answered in your thread. Myself, I have a four blade head for my one and only 450 scale A109 but I know that the head is out of production and I doubt I could even get any parts for it from the original importer. You can also look up Black Cats heads and that company had some very cool multi-blade 450 heads but I have not looked into them in well over a year and a half. Good luck, you're already getting some good advice on setup. Take care.

Well, I didn't get the name right, it was Double Cats and they no longer have the 450 size helicopter heads listed, sigh. I can't remember the actual branding of those heads but they did look well designed for a change. Sorry, the trail has gone cold.
