Question KBDD 710 orange blades and spacers

Hello,

As the title says I want to run 710mm Orange blades on Synergy E7se, but I just noticed that blade root is 14mm thick - usually Synergy helicopters use 12mm thick blades with two 1mm shims on each side of the blade root (like Rail 696).

There is a groove in the center of the blade grip (to allow for blade grip bearing insertion during assembly), so not using the shim with 14mm blades might reduce surface area... on the other hand, KBDD blades seem to extend more into the blade grip ( go deeper ) - the blade itself has a lot more surface area at the root.

Can I run KBDD 710mm blades safely on E7se with no blade spacers? They fit fine, I'm just concerned about the amount of surface area between the blade grip and blade root.

You will be fine to run the kbdd’s on your bird...

Let us know how you like them.

I agree with Chad.

I have had several machines where the main blades fit as you describe-just left the spacers out and installed the blades.

No problems.

I love the blades! Visibility is awesome and with 710s the autos are fantastic - yet the cyclic rate in 3D isn't affected. Definitely keeping these! They fly super smooth too, so really need to beat the heli and push it to get any extra blade farts.

Tail blades make a strange whistling sound though - nothing wrong, just sounds like they are slicing through the air. Oh well, not really an issue.

And no issues running with no spacers on E7se - hold up to the beating just fine.

Glad you like the blades on one side of the spectrum.. If you would like more pop, try the 690, the wide cord of the blades will still auto nicely

Yes they fit just fine without issue as you guys have all stated. I have an N7 that I run KBDD EE 690's (Same root at 710), and have had zero issues until I planted the heli a while back. Having a planet hit your helicopter tends to do some damage

prokyon,

If the tail blades howl, drop the RPM a bit until they just stop.

I don't think it's the RPM.... I think it's the sharp trailing edge - I can't drop the RPM any lower at 1800 HS and I fly all the way up to 2300 - they make this noise all the same - doesn't really bother me, I think it's cool.
