Default Trex 450 LP Help

Hello All,
I am brand new to the 450. I need to tame this bird way down and have no idea how to do it on the radio settings. The radio is a Align A10. any help would be greatly appreciated!

You can tame it down regarding roll rates using the flybarless controller. If you are using the BeastX, you can set the agility to sport mode which has less rotation speed and a bit of expo built in.

I would set my throttle curve to max out at 80%. I typically fly flat throttle curves in idle up (if not using a gov) so I would do 80% across the board.

Regarding collective pitch, I would set the max pitch at 11 in lieu of 12.

That should soften her up a bit.

Which flybarless unit? What percent throttle are you using? 80% is pretty crazy on a 6S 450L if you are just starting out. My Idle Up 2 is 75% and Idle Up 1 is 68%

Agree that 80 percent is still running at a pretty good clip. Most esc's prefer to run at above 75%. I would recommend dropping a tooth in the pinion before running a throttle curve much lower. Below is an excerpt from RC Groups on this discussion.

In terms of heat dissipation and efficiency, an ESC is most efficient and generates the least heat when run at full throttle. At partial throttle the PWM switching losses kick in which generates more heat which in turn lowers efficiency. As such, the very worst environment for an ESC is when it is run for long periods of time at 70% to 80% throttle.

The general consensus is that if you need to run at a head speed much below 80 percent, you need to drop a tooth on your pinion. With that said, you could always install a smaller pinion on the motor to lower the head speed if it still seems too fast.

I have a 470 and 470L but have been looking at the 450LP with Aligns new

MINIGRS Flybarless System

I am really interested in the new Align FBL controller

From what I read.

User is only required to install tail assembly to the body of the helicopter and reconfirm set-up before flight.

Tools Needed
1. Dial Pitch Gauge or Digital Pitch Gauge
2. Swashplate Leveler

How easy was the set up?

Did you have to reset level the Swashplate?

Did you have to download or reset Align A10 radio?

If running with the governor then down to 60% throttle on the transmitter is OK with many ESCs; always best to check the manual.
