I know logic. But I have gyro gain linked to flight curve - Normal, Idle, hold. It's correct, it is traditional way to setup gyro. There is no need for me to use tail banks. I have cyclic bank switch.
Why is tail bank witching at the same time as throttle peak in logs? I didn't touch radio.
I think, that it is something wrong with radio

I need some advice with a Sk540 coupled with a Goblin 420. The problem I am having is the heli feels like a marble on top of a pyramid always wanting to roll one way or another.

Can you guys recommend settings that would stabilize this thing for a stable F3C style of flying?

Here are my current settings:
Cyclic Gain: 50
Control rates: 200,200
Bell Gains: 38,44
Hiller Decay: 155

I did try 75 on the Hiller Decay but there wasn't much of an effect on stability.

Thanks!

Sounds like your gain is too low, but it could also be mechanical geometry.

If you want a full answer upload your setup file, or a log.

Which setup file did you start with? Doesnít look like you used this:

I recommend you do that as well

Thank you for the reply and information!

I will post my setup file later this evening.

Regarding the initial setup file, I began by using one of the setup files that came with the SK540 and went from there.

I can say, from memory, that my swash mixing for ail and ele along with collective pitch is as follows:

Aileron: 60
Elevator:60
Collective Pitch: 42
Pitch +10 and -10

Thanks again!

Omerco, I'll move this over to your thread with the optimized setup files.

Thanks

The optimized files address much of the problem you describe. Please read and I would reccomand follow the instructions.

I will have a look at your setup tommorow. Itís not the swash mix Iím interested in.

looked at your file. you have few things which are way off. for starters your file shows control rates of 100/120 and not 200 as you described, and even for your style i wouldn't go as low as 200 even.

Your cyclic gain is on default 50, and from what you describe should be much higher.

The optimized files have some hidden param which increase stability (hiller gain, which cannot be accessed today).

So as said:

- please start your setup again using one of the files - i recommend the sport flight.

- Leave the hiller decay around 80-100. you need that for your style.

- start increasing the cyclic gain in 5-10 increments. follow the cyclic tuning instructions in the first post.

Besides that your tail geometry is way off shown in very low travels left/right. your ball need to go one hole inside on the tail horn.

Omerco, I really do appreciate you taking the time to look at my setup file and provide feedback
I will definitely take your advice and use your sport flight file to get started and go from there.

Ever since getting the Skookum controller I have found myself fighting the tuning trying to get everything dialed in. Apparantly, it is caused by my ignorance with the tuning aspects

Thanks again,

Sawacs
