Default Resurrected my X2 - spindle question

As I said, I'm resurrecting my little X2 and I have a question about the spindle. Mine is quite "sloppy" inside and looking at the manual, it's not very intuitive. I have a "spindle kit" spare and there are some shoulder type washers in the kit but I'm not sure how they are supposed to fit.

Does anyone have any pictures of theirs maybe? Or some guidance?

Typically the shoulder will face inside towards the inner race of the bearing. This allows the outside and inside races of the bearing to spin freely without rubbing on the washer. The washer should be item 'b' on page 9 of the manual.

Thank you!
I ended up buying a complete head assembly with mainshaft off empire. It was a little expensive but worth it because I obviously didn't have my head put together correctly (I bought this x2 used)
I have a Blade 270cfx and I love the X2 so much better now that it's flying correctly!

If you like the X2, I highly recommend the X3. Very capable machine.

Yep, I am getting ready to get another x5. I kinda wished I got an x2 instead of oxy2 just for the sake of continuity. Formula x2's are looking great.

Just ordered and replaced the stock esc with a Talon 25. After a hard landing and cracking the gear, I figured out that I needed to set the gov. in the esc since it's a talon

I'm using Ikon2. We still need to solder a resistor into the leads on Castle esc's for telemetry? Enough reason for me to switch to hobbywing I suppose. I know HW is well respected - do I need to solder or hack anything on the HW to get them to work properly out of the box?

HW is good. Just get the 25a v4 and go GOV store. Nothing to modify. The internal gov the on HW is better than Castle. Just follow the RPM normalization procedure and you'll be good to go. There is a video on YouTube from Hobbywing on how to do it.

I’ve had it! This X2 has cost me around $40/flight since I’ve owned it. Finally got it dialed and was having fun just cruising it around, then I spun it up to 4200 and the tail went T.U.and it got totaled into a tree...

If there was anything useful, I would consider gifting it to someone, but I don’t want anyone else going through the headache I did with this thing.

It’s with great sorrow, I put it to rest and finally cave with a Goblin Fireball...
