I maidened the 550 today, and i had the infamous logo wag as well...

I changed the whole tail section with the one from a friends logo and all wagging was gone. I guess i have to find those thrustbearings somewhere

I changed the tail thrust bearings with a set of new mikado bearings (I could not find the MSH bearings anywhere). Also i sanded the tailshaft with some 600 grid paper. When I pulled the tailblade holders, the slider was binding although it was smooth when I didn't pull the blade holders. After sanding it was much smoother

The tailag is now gone for 90%. I'll do a few flights and hope all gets a bit smoother over time.

Hey Thickfog,

what mks servo did you put in ?

talking about a logo 550 sx

6 logos no wag. I did buy a used 480xx that was like a happy dog. I removed the the spedix tail box and parts, bought new logo stock parts. The tail shaft and hub were bent and one tail box bearing was bad. Not sure how he expected the tail to work properly.

It also had the stock combo savox tail servo and still had slight wag. So in went an mks servo and all done.

Thanks ,

filo

For me I've never had wag like many others. I do have all older grips though.

I have a few nip sets I'll use one day. We'll see.

I use futaba, mks, bk and kst servos. Ko issues.
On my logo 480xx i did have wag with the savox packaged servo. Went away with the mks tail servo.

I fixed a friend’s wagging Logo 550 with grips from a Tarot 600. Worked like a charm.

I used the tarot dog-bones and slider (see pic).. But yeah, if it was tight I would size it with a reamer.

Tony I used a Tarot slider with mikado grip. Tight as heck, but works fine.

thanks, just ordered 2 dogbones and another grip set.. a whopping 25 bucks.
there is a nice duel slider there but I don't think it will retro fit. as well as a complete metal tail case.. like the speedx one.

Dual slider assembly should fit ok (I've not tried it on the Logo but i dont see why it wouldnt work). The metal tail box unfortunately is for the 'fatter' 600 boom only.

Tarot have also released metal tail grips (see pic), through these are hot off the press so may have not hit all the dealers yet

I saw them but the angle that the control balls sit are diff from the plastic ones. so there are some other parts that go with them, but they look really nice.
I think for what im doing, the plastic will be fine.

The metal grips are sold as an assembly complete with tail shaft, bearings and balls. Here's a pic:

Recommended retail for the assembly is £11.28 (UK pounds) so that should work out about $14.50.. You have to love tarot prices!

Yea, thatís what I saw on their site.. see how the balls are right over the tail shaft? Thatís not how they are on the plastic ones. No biggie, I think the plastic is gonna work fine for me.
