Default vcontrol touch

Having trouble getting usb device drop-down menu to show any options.
Tried different cables. plug in usb cable and start tx and put into usb mode active. Windows explorer pops up and shows vct as a hard drive.
so I use the wizard to pick a transmitter Mikado then next page drop-down box says USB device is blank and shows no options.
under that box Dongle mode I can select vbar controller usb among other options. mikado shows up as a transmitter but nothing works.
device manager in windows shows vcontrol as usb mass storage device.
any help would be appreciated.
solved issue dont use usb stick mode

You need to leave the VBC in sim mode, a hard drive won't fly the sim. Just plug it in and don't change anything, it will be recognized as a game controller.

right click on the mounted drive in windows and click "unmount" it will then connect as a usb controller
