Default Issue with Lemon DSMX sats

Just curious, has anyone else had signal loss / range issues with Lemon DSMX sats?

This is the first time I have tried them and previously the comments I had seen were all positive. But it looks like they are not playing nicely with my VX1e.

The first thing I noticed was that I could not get it to range check. But because one sat was very close to the ground, and as I have experienced this ground interference before sometimes, I put it down to that. But in flight I experienced a power loss and thought I'd have to auto down but then it recovered.

Looking at the logs I can see many many antenna switch and signal loss messages and a failsafe activated entry.

I have replaced the Lemons with Spektrum DSM2 sats for now and will see how it goes next time out.

Just curious if anyone else has had problems with the Lemon sats? Perhaps they may have been good in the past and then their QC has lapsed? I bought these new a few months ago.

As you say they were always good in the past, but I haven't tried them recently. Did you check the cables, or range test each sat individually?

I've seen satellites where I could trigger signal loss messages in the logs just from wiggling the cable, those tiny little connectors are a definite weak point.

The cables that came with the Lemon sats appear to be better than the typical Spektrum ones. That was one thing I liked :-o

Anyway, we'll see how the Spek DSM2s work next time.

I've talked with some guys already at the club and they said for cheap foamies. lemon sats are ok but there is a noticeable difference in signal quality.

I've never had an issue but then all of mine are older ones. I just used some doing two new builds.

Yes I have

I bought a lemon sat to try on my oxy 2. I had random power failures or signal losses in mid flight that drove me insane. This was aprox 1.5 years ago.

Switched over to a spetrum dsmx sat and all was good.

I stay away from Lemon sats due to this experience.
