Default 3s lipo will not charge past 11.3V

I have a new pair of 3s 2200mah lipo batteries and I cannot get them to charge over 11.3V. Using a IMAX b6 charger and charging them at 3A. I dont have a power cord yet and I'm using the car battery adapter that the charger came with. I am charging it on the lipo 3s charge setting. Am I doing something wrong?

Is the car battery charged up good enough?
Never had that charger but think it works like my Ichargers, can you set what you want it to charge to? are all 3 cells 11.3 or is one higher? I have a charger that once the one cell hits 4.20 the charger stops..
I like to charge my new battery's slow so always just 1C for the first 5-6 cycles

So you are trying to charge a lipo to 12.6V off a battery that reads 12.3V and probably less under load ? Think about it.

For one thing if your truck battery is topping out at 12.3V then it's time to replace it.

The batteries in my truck are brand new. It should be in the 12-12.5v range when the engine is off. In a 3 cell lipo each cell is charged to around 4.2v. So 4.2x3 cell = 12.6v total. Same way if I used a laptop charger with a 12v output. How do you think the same charger can charge a 6s battery to 22.2V.

Try dropping the max current to around 0.5mA. Also it may take a while - 45-60 minutes or more.

Dropped the charge to 2.2A. Finally got one battery to 12.6V after 4 2hr charge cycles.

Think your supply battery needs more juice. I know when my deep cycle gets that low my Power lab warns me and lets me pick if i really want to drain it more or not.

Normally i think its somewhere around 13.0-12.8

I understand how a lipo charger works. My point was your input battery is weak. It should be 12.8 - 13.2V when the car is off. It's obviously bad or the alternator is. Normally the input charge voltage is 14.4 - 15V off the alternator.

Have 2 agm batteries in my truck. It's a 2011 Ram 2500 with the diesel. Both are only 4 months old. Theres nothing wrong with them. Have a 240A alternator that is in working condition, has 14-14.5v when running. Never seen an vehicle electrical system run any higher than that. The 12.3 was after it sitting for the weekend and that's just what the IMAX b6 saw as the input voltage. I'm picking up a suitable laptop power supply next week so that should help it deliver a constant supply of power and will be easier to keep an eye on the batteries while they charge.

I found a old laptop charger that fits the IMAX b6. It's a 12v 3A output charger. How long can the battery be stored at full charge? I'm waiting on some replacement parts that should be here on Friday. But the batteries have been at full charge for a few days now.

i don't like to leave a lipo fully charged more then a day, but some will say they leave them charged longer.
i charged yesterday morning and just flew my last one this evening if i had not went to fly i would had discharged on my charger tonight.

The standard voltage of 3s is 11.1V. Not all cells can reach 4.2V. If you want, you can look at the high voltage battery.
