Default xk K130 very short flight times

Just got my K130 and as awesome as it flies, my enjoyment seems to get cut very short. What flight times are others getting with this? I had to land abruptly a couple of times when the low voltage cutoff kicked in. Have not timed it yet but it feels like I"m getting 2 minutes if that. Is this normal considering it is running on a 600mah Lipo? Is there a better lipo out there for this? I had gotten a 5 pack of after market lipos from Ali Express which has a thicker gauge wire and slightly thicker battery. But same general short flight times. Is there a way to adjust the heli such that it does not suck up as much battery when doing 3d? I tried the settings from the manual but it was not enough pitch so I bumped it up to where it has some punch when throttling up. The whole point of getting this heli was to have more power in 3d.

Check the tail motor for heat. It seems they used a 1S motor in them which overheats. Many of us have replaced them with 2S motors we got off Amazon. These are a perfect fit. (Of course two of them if used would have to be run backwards).

Here is a link to them:

Does this also fix the issue I"m having where the tail randomly spins making it hard to control? Sometimes it's fine then other times, it's practically un-controllable. The tail just stops holding for a second. I put an XK K123 rotor on per other recommendations as people have been saying the stock rotor is not big enough. Not sure if it's slipping now and then or if the motor is overheating and stopping sometimes? The rotor is on really tight so I doubt it's slipping.

The motor has been known to overheat and slow down (which would cause the heli to spin or the tail to blow out). Sometimes it will burn out all together. Lots of info about all the issues in the K130 thread on RCG. This was tested early on by someone on there. It was one of the first things we found "wrong" with it. I don't fly it very much but others there are on top of things.

So is this 1s Tail issue why the main motor and battery gets hot too? Why the hell would XK put a 1s motor on a 2s heli? Aside from the rock solid flight I get when it's working, I'm really disappointed in the fact that I have to spend more money to make it right? Just doesn't make sense. I now have had it cut power in mid flight a couple of times, probably b/c the lipo was discharged around 50%. I really hope replacing the tail motor with the suggested 2s motor helps with the overheating and stupid short flight times.

Default Poor, well really awful, tail control

Just got one of these. Love the 110 and thought I'd try. I'm seeing very poor tail control. Sometimes have to hold left rudder to keep it from drifting right. Other times tail just decides it's gonna point a different direction without any input.

I just ordered the 2s motors from Amazon but this really stinks. Is there a way I can tell if what I have is a 1s tail motor? Anyway, hope this motor upgrade fixes things.

I have a pack of these that came with used K130. My 1S motor is still fresh and holds great, especially with HV packs. How do these 2S motors perform in 3D flight? I'm going to wait until my 1S motor slows a bit before replacing it.

The 2S motors stay much much cooler. If you add a K123 or similar tail blade it's even better. Mine sits as I just can't tame it down enough for old man flying style.

Finally got the 2s tail motors in. Definitely comes down cooler but tail control is horrendous. Tail just kinda points whichever way it wants. Mostly within about 45 degrees of where I tried to put it so not THAT bad though the surprise change in direction is a bit unnerving. Guess it's helping with my OH CRAP! skills. Only heli I'm looking forward to crashing.

Those motors hold fine for me when I do fly it as well as some other people. Makes me wonder if his has another issue.

Potentially but was like this out of the box with old 1s tail and now with 2s tail. I'd like to know what else could be the problem but really not worth the time. I fly it cause I got it. First crash and it's in the trash.

I'm still a big fan of the xk110.

Bad ESC maybe? I really like mine except for the main motor temps and short flight times. I'm going to order some GNB or Crazepony 650mAh HV packs. Hopefully I can get at least 3:30 out of them. 2:30ish isn't cutting it for me.

I guess anything is possible. It does have power to spare so has potential to be fun if it'd behave itself.

Forgot to mention this. Make sure the flight control isn't touching the inside of the red cover. If so relocate it to a central location. I had vibe and tail issues and that was the problem. I need to relocate mine, still flying with the cover off Lol. Pics on RCG. I can upload a pic here if you like.

EDIT: Never mind. Found it https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...postcount=1124

Yeah could you do that? Also point me to the rcg thread page?
Thanks much.

The metal base touches the red cover and transfers vibrations. The connecting band should clear the case also.
