The stock 180cfx fbl is setup for use with a servo. I think I read somewhere that it won't work with a motorized tail.

Also stretching the boom will make it more tail heavy. I found using the lynx landing gear they have a litter longer skids on the back end which helps with the extra weight. Doesn't want to tip backwards as easy.

I purchased 3 Blue Arrow Cyclic 540QQ 280 servos on eBay for 34.95. I was instructed to reverse the receiver AR6335a with the antenna towards the front. The servos are cheap and already stripped but it does work and flys great! Will post pics once I get it cleaned up.

My next project. Also a motorized tail but going with individual Esc's to hopefully move weight to front for more balanced cog.

So i see where Blade has released a Heli similar to the one I put together. If someone has one I would really like to to know your thoughts on it.
Differences I notice straight up is it appears they used a 130s tail motor.
I tried one on mine and it felt weak. I went with the 230s tail motor and 230s esc.
So please post any comments if you have any.
Thanks

If you want to add a motorized tail, you don't have to ditch the stock esc. Just add a small quad style esc on top of the stock one. Did this with my 230S esc replacement after I blew it up. Buy an old school 3 pin programmer and you can adjust the settings easily if you leave a servo connector soldered to the esc.
