Default Upgrade Blade 400 Battery to 3S 5200mAh 11.1V 50C LiPo?

Is it possible to upgrade from the original E-flite 1800mAh 3S 11.1V 30C LiPo to a GOLDBAT 3S 5200mAh 11.1V 50C LiPo? If I put the 5200mAh LiPo in the helicopter will it catch fire? I know nothing about batteries that's why I ask.

5200mah ?
Dont you mean 2200 mah ?
If you do mean 5200 then thats quite a weight increase and will probably affect your centre of gravity
As for catching fire so long as its a 3s battery it should be ok

The biggest I fly on mine is a 3S 2300 HV lipo. I wouldn't go with something as big as a 5200.

Maybe you need to visit a LHS shop and take a look at different lipos, sizes and weights.

3s 2200mah (30-35C) works on my Blade 4503D.

I read on some forums that maybe people have been using slighly higher mah packs like 2700mah, if the fit (no guarantee, make sure the CG is still fine!!).

Different (higher) mah lipos quite often have different sizes.
So you basically cannot mount the canopy.

The lipo cannot be much larger / longer:
The motor is on top (on my 450) and the lipo is not allowed to touch it.
You need to have some good spacing between the top lipo end and the motor!
You cannot move the lipo down too far either a) because of the CG or b) because it will hit the canopy bottom.

And for sure the CG is completely off with quite bigger packs.

The CG with 3s 2200mah is good.

Make sure that you lift up the heli on the blade holders (main blades aligned sideways) with the lipo (and canopy) correctly mounted and test if it is balanced / level.

Thank you all for your time and knowledge. I did buy the 5200mah and what a mistake. Yes, it's to heavy to the point of the helicopter not getting off the ground.

Well I can't really say that because it did hover a few inches until the main gear cracked and spun on the bearing. I've replaced the main gear and I'm ordering a smaller battery tomorrow.

I'll keep yall posted on my trial and error fiasco.
